Publisher's Summary

Book two of two in The Belonging Duet

I tried resisting him. I fought to ensure history wouldn’t repeat itself. In the end, Jackson and I knew he would win. He broke down my walls, obliterated every excuse, and made me love him against all odds.

Then he shattered my heart into thousands of pieces.

I can’t let him back in. It was hard enough surrendering my heart the first time. If he hurts me again, I’ll never survive. No matter what he thinks, we’re beholden to our past.

Love narrators n hero. Heroine not so much

Could absolutely not stand catherine. She was weak n annoying. She needed to just get over some stuff n move on. Jackson was wayyyy to good for her. Loved jackson n mark. Narration was amazing. Love andi and the male was good. Why oh why do authors do the thing where all that is needed is one sentence to clear up everything, jackson literally just need to say “hey i have an ex wife” wouldnt have been a big deal. I guess catherine would’ve blown it out of proportion so maybe thats why🤷🏻‍♀️. Catherine would talk about how tough she is and can hold her own with anyone blah blah. When she attacked neil i was like ok maybe she does have some grit. Wrong, maybe thats the problem....she was inconsistent. One part she would stand up for herself n the next cry n run away. If she wasnt so annoying i would have loved this duet

I’m breaking up with these characters.

Listening to the second audiobook in this set I’m not happy with either of the main characters. Both Jackson and Catherine make a huge deal out of every little thing while they never shut up long enough to get the facts. And considering the fact that they’re both adults and never learn from their mistakes, I’m breaking up with both of them. I enjoyed the narrators but two books filled with repetitive behavior could have easily been edited down to one good story.

OBservation

I don’t understand why some readers get annoyed with angst in books. Yes, of course everything could be resolved with one sentence or direct communication, but then THEIR WOULD BE NO STORY TO READ OR BOOK TO READ? Just endless novellas without any depth to it.

Seriously, Katherine?

I just can’t with this woman! Pessimistic, insecure, always covering her head & hiding her ears from the truth and dodging calls so she can whine about not being told things. Really? And no, her very common daddy issues do not equate to war trauma. Such an uneven couple.

Beholden

I am currently on book 5, this is one of the best series I have read in a very long time! Each book is full of laughter, tears, twists and love. The characters all have funny banter, emotional angst and exceptional character development. I cant say enough great things about them. Once you start, you cant put them down, and you find yourself downloading the next one as soon as the credits roll on the one you listening to.

As always, the Andi Arndts narration has knocked these out of the park. I have also enjoyed the male narrators (even though i agree with other reviewers that I would have liked a little more screen time with the male POV.)

This Author has fast tracked her way onto my "must read" author list, if any of her other books or series are as good as this one, I absolutely cant wait to get my hands on them!

Take a chance, download the first book and see where it leads you, my bet is that you will soon find yourself staying up late and spending a little too much time justifying how "just 30 more mins" of missed sleep to listen to these books are worth it!

Hate one POV

Hate when there’s one POV. This takes away a good story. This got four stars because of good writing. Andi did 95% reading. When the hero POV came, I didn’t see a point for his part. I fast forward most of the story to get to the end.

Good but frustrating

I understand that a story needs a thick plot to make it interesting, BUT Kathrine’s character took it way too far. She should’ve listened to Jackson sooner. That went on WAY too long. And Jackson should’ve just spit the truth out. Could have cut 3 hours out at least. Happy it all worked out in the end but it was a frustrating book to listen too. As a side note Ryan Hudson has a sexy ass voice!!! He should narrate more books! I could listen to him all day.

The words Duet or Trilogy = cliffhanger, folks!!!!

Not sure why there were so many complaints about cliffhangers, etc., when it's a given that when you see the words "duet" or "trilogy" that there's likely to be a cliffy.. OK, now we got that over with, let's move on the the narrators---Ryan Hudson was a new one for me and honestly, I have no complaints. At all. Andy is great, too---the occasional nasally tone notwithstanding. It's hard to find a decent female narrator since all of them tend to sound like 12 yr old MInnie Mouse these days.

So now....Ms MIchaels, let's talk about your heroine. She's selfish, whiney and all about herself. What is there to love?????? Ladies (authors), is that how it is these days? Mean girls who are selfish, self-absorbed, etc? Ugh. Not once did she show concern while he was in Afghanistan. She just agonized over how she felt about him leaving. And why would she keep the old engagement ring??? And take his phone calls? Block button. And then to go to his house alone?? Very arrogant of her to think he would leave her alone just because she said so?? Hopefully, the rest of the series has better heroine.

Fantastic but a bit rushed

Loved the Katherine & Jackson storyline but I felt towards the end of this book it was a bit rushed. One of my favourite authors but the end of this one was a bit off to me.

part 2 of an ok romance

Cat dealing with a new job and making a long distance relationship with Jackson.
Jackson trying to make the right personal and business decision that let him keep Cat.
This is the second half of a long winded romance.
LOTS of internal dialogue and repeated phrases..
and just when you think your getting somewhere in the story you get MORE self depreciating and second guessing, internal dialogue. over all it was a good story.
and was good for an Audible freebie... and I listened to it at a quicker speed.

A bit disappointed

After listening to the other books in the series, I struggled with this one! It just felt that Jackson was too over the top, too pushy, too self absorbed and to be honest guilty of coercive control over a woman who’s weaknesses he identified and abused! It was a bit disappointing after enjoying the other books where, yes the guys and girls had strong personalities and beliefs but they were tongue in cheek acceptable! It’s just my opinion though! Forcing Katherine into her father’s house was nothing short of disrespect towards a woman, assault and domestic violence.

Caught me

Nawww I ended up really liking these two. Book 1 was a good set up and book 2 sealed the deal. Could have been more raunchy but the story was great. Thanks for the ride x

Kathryn and Neil

This is a continuation of book 1, in the Salvation Series.
Kathryn came into her own strength in this book.
At times she took it too far, didn’t listen and made judgements.
This stubbornness annoyed somewhat, but it was the story…
She had a history of abandonment which made her commitment shy.

Repetitive

I’m not one for writing a bad review, but this book sucked... the narrators were good but the book was a real let down. All Kat did was complain about how much her life sucked and turned everything back onto herself when Jackson was injured, I didn’t even make it past chapter 9.

Was disappointed in this second book
