Fiercely beautiful and gripping story of Serenity

I’m in a Julia Whelan frame of mind, so I’m starting my second listen… and so worth it!

I found this available in the Audible Plus catalogue ($0). I do not usually go for this type of book, however, exceptionally skillful narrator Julia Whelan has surprisingly changed that. I have 46 Whelan-narrated books. Thanks to my idea of searching by narrator, I have found many hidden gems. Whelan’s exquisite presentations of each and every character is precise and oh, so perfect. How, how, how does Julia do it with her pitch-perfect vocals? Author Corinne Michaels exquisitely tells the tale of Oncologist Serenity (a classic name I shall not soon forget). Focusing on her personal and professional life: True love, trust, loss and agony, betrayal, fury, life decisions are mixed with a variety of other emotions. I cried. I laughed, I cried. Williams’ relays two heartbreaking and complex relationships in Serenity’s life, her current one and another from many years ago. I want to scream from the rooftops, “Get this book now. Wait no longer.” So highly recommended that I can’t see to the top.

Incredible Book!

Oh my goodness this book deserves all the stars! An emotional journey with Dr. Serenity Adams, coming to terms with choices made whether they were the right ones or wrong ones, moving forward, and being open to love again and freely move on. Dr Westin Grant will make you swoon with his love and devotion for Serenity, his patience was amazing!

Definitely, a book and characters that will stay with you long after the epilogue! Recommend 100%

Infinite stars ⭐️

This is such a poignant and heartfelt story. I am a huge fan of Corinne and I devour her books but I have absolutely no words to describe this book. It was such an emotional roller coaster and I was so invested in the story . Corinne gutted me with this emotional roller coaster. Serenity struggle were raw and real . The choices and decisions she faces daily and the journey she takes to heal her heart and finally find love. I loved Westin’s character and how he broke down all of Serenity’s wall she had around her . This was everything I expected from Corinne book and more. Julia is a new narrator for me and I loved the justice she did narrating this story and bringing the characters to life. The story was pure perfection. An absolute masterpiece . It’s so beautifully written and a captivating love story . It was raw and real . How the choices we make not only have everlasting effect on us but also on all the people around us. A thought provoking and heart wrenching tale. Definitely a must read and listen . One of my absolute favorites from 2021 .

"I will love you, until my last breath"

It's been a really long time since I've been this torn over a book. I always prepare for the worst when it comes to Corrine's novels because I know that she doesn't shy away from the hard stuff. She has made second chance romances her jam, and it shows.

It wasn't until 20% in that my heart took the first drop. Corinne likes to put her characters through hell and it wasn't until about 50% way through that I knew where my heart lied. But I will admit that I wavered back and forth about what choices Ren had to make. Now being a romance reader for years, there was a clear cut path for Ren to go one way, especially given the circumstances, or there could be the harder choice. The kind of choice I don't think everyone will love, but what fits for the character.

Thankfully, that aligned with what I wanted for Ren as well. That last quarter about did me in because Ren's life was beginning to crumb before her. She has shielded herself for years so that she could stay safe, but she was in the most danger and losing everything.

I almost have to dissociate from my normal self when I read Corrine's books because I know that she likes to bring on the heartbreak. I'm definitely an empathetic reader. An although her novels always tear me apart, they always put me back together.

It was a good shory not overly mushy. Love at first sight. There was troubles and one not blocking affection. It kept my wanting to go back to listening till it ended.
