Some long-dead secrets are best kept buried. It was meant to be just a small remodeling project to Amanda's historic bed and breakfast, like so many she'd done before. This time, though, she hadn't counted that a mysterious discovery could lead to her small Oregon beach town buzzing with gossip and innuendo, and someone just in the shadows who will stop at almost nothing to keep the past as silent as the grave.

Cute First Mystery But Reader Was Poor
If you could sum up Bed, Breakfast, and Bones in three words, what would they be?
A cute first mystery with lots of potential for the series
How could the performance have been better?
The performance was horrible. It took all I had to hang in with this book. I'm usually not that choosy but this was not at all professional. It was like having a friend read out loud from a book. Please check the sample BEFORE buying. I had bought the book first and just added the audible portion without checking first. If this is the reader for the series, I won't be continuing.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If it wasn't for the reader, I could have easily listened all in one sitting.

Narrator ruined an already “just ok” cozy mystery.
Felt like narrator was speaking to preschoolers. Cozy mysteries are already a soft mystery add a narrator who enunciates like she’s talking to preschool children and it’s unbearable.

Narrator was so terrible I could not finish
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I don't know
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not sure
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Gail Hedrick?
Anyone else. I'm sorry but this reader was so terrible I could not listen to this book. She sounded like someone who was reading a book for the first time in her life. She sounded like someone reading a book or an actor reading from a script as opposed to someone who brings life to characters or has emotion. This narrator was very emotionless.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I cannot review the story because the reader was so annoying.

A five star story
This is an extremely well written and compelling story with lovable, believable characters. While the narrator has quite a strong American accent, it wasn't unlistenable, in fact I listened to the whole thing in one sitting. The dropped 🌟 on my scoring was for the sound tech, as the voice was very tinny at times. However, don't let this put you off because you'll be missing out on a great tail 😻👍

Great first book of the series, can't wait to read more. Great narration as well. Reminds me of Body Mover's series by Stephanie Bond, High Heels by Gemma Halliday or Mafia Mysteries by Gina LaManna with a cool small beach town vibe. Definitely recommended.
