Do yourself a favor and listen!!!!

Having read many of Lexi Blake's books before, I knew this series would be good! But I didn't think I'd love it as much as I do! I have a definite love for the south and LA, Cajun, etc. so that drew me in as well! But what great stories! love it and recommend highly. I especially think that the Audible is spectacular! Jessica Almasy does a fantastic job narrating. Her Cajun, LA accent I adore...and she does a sexy man's voice!!!! Do yourself a favor and listen!!!! ❤❤❤

FANTASTIC!

Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! The story is about a small town of families and how the different classes interact. A love story also emerges, but it is not the main focus... instead the focus is the complexity of family relationships good and bad. Loved it!

The 1st couple of chapters felt overwhelming because of the deludge of the characters introduced. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep them all straight but glory be this author is a terrific writer who carefully weaves and flushes out the story simultaneously. This small town isn't a cute cliché like other books create, it is realistic.

best book I've listened to in a while

The narrator hits it out of the park in this audiobook. Love the story and all of the characters. I laughed so hard many times through this audiobook people around me thought I needed a straight jacket lol

Beautiful story about relationships within families

I loved this story. The relationship between Sera and Harry was incredible, and their chemistry was amazing, but I think my favorite part was watching the other relationships around the couple grow. The way the Celeste grows and changes throughout the story is a beautiful study in humanity. I’m a devotee of Lexi Blake’s novels, but I really feel this is a stellar example of what she can do.

The narrator was good and does a great Cajun accent, but I didn’t like how she gave Harry a Cajun accent too. It threw me off from being totally immersed in the story. Harry is from Dallas, and should have had more of a Texas drawl. Otherwise, though, the narration was great, and I was still able to enjoy the story.

Truly fantastic. Worth the looooonnnnggg wait. Or what seemed like a long wait. Ready for the next one.

Another 5 star story in the Bayou!

I recommend this series and the audible version captures your attention and hold it!

The duo, Lexi Blake & Jessica Almasy, are the perfect pair. So much so, it feels like they have both visited Papillon, or, dare I say, grew up there. As a proud, small town girl from Alabama, these "tales" hit close to the heart. 🥰

The way Ms. Blake captures the essence of inarguable southern hospitality, solidarity and commitment of every small town I am familiar with, makes each story so much more impactful. She introduces the people and places in a way that, although you may guess the big ending, there is so much more to each person to keep the reader's undenied attention.

I am so enthralled in Papillon, LA that I want to plan a trip there. AND... I do not know how one of the cozy-chic-flick-movie-producer types haven't grabbed a hold of this town and it's citizens (through Ms. Blake's books ofcourse) for the next big TV hit!!!

P.S. Yes, there is some (butterflies in your stomach) steamy romance, BUT the read is deeper than that and those "scenes" in no way overshadow the entire work. In my opinion, the rating would be PG16 (if there was such a thing).

Loving this series (and this narrator)!

Loved this one too - though I had to go down half a star because why did they wait until the last minute to pull out that letter! Seems to me a whole lot of hurt could've been avoided with that - but I guess then the story wouldn't have been so good. Now I get to dive in to Zep and Roxie's story!!!

Loved all the characters

Is this a love story? Sure. And so much more. I was hooked from the beginning. So good!
