On the path to salvation, power is earned in blood and every choice comes with a cost, in this heart-pounding epic from the author of Death: Genesis.

The orcs have been driven back, and Ironshore still stands. But for Elijah Hart, victory rings hollow without his family. Ready to resume his search for them, he'll trek across monster-infested wilds, to magical rifts that spill nightmares into the world, and through the ruins of a shattered Earth. Each battle sharpens his power, drawing the attention of Thor Gunderson—the most dangerous hunter alive—who has marked Elijah as his prey.

Meanwhile, far away on the outskirts of former Seattle, Elijah's sister-in-law, Carmen Rodriguez, leads a handful of survivors through a land set on devouring the weak. Marauders stalk the roads. Mammoth beasts lurk in the wilderness. And monsters out of legend skulk in the shadows. With her son's future hanging by a thread, she'll need to become more than a simple Blacksmith and forge herself into a leader.

The world is broken. Humanity is desperate for a hero to guide them out of the dark. But forces older than mankind have risen again, waiting for a chance to strike . . .

Great addition! Loved the conclusions. I hate that king guy in his delusions as I should. Glad Mc succeeded too. Hope to see more Seattle

I like the series, but the tower content in the first two books almost made me give up. There wasn't any meaning to it but this time the author learned from their mistakes and the story focused on the greater world and Eli's adventures. I had a blast listening to the third book and I very much look forward to the fourth. I do wish we could get some more detail and the story not move days to weeks at a time within a few paragraphs.

I really like his worldtree system. The video game vibe is a bit of a trope but if you just go with it the story will reel you in.

It's the story of a young man who has his whole world turned upside down. Earth or what is left of it now has a magic along with it being randomized and integrated with remnants of other dying worlds.

Or hero is now a Druid on his way to godhood.

Love his Worldtree!
