An action-packed new progression fantasy from the bestselling author of Armor and Deadman Walking.

Locked away. Left to die. He'll master his powers to survive, then thrive.

Betrayed by his former gang and thrown into the Rendhold Underprison, Dantes has spent the last five years scraping by. A bastard of human, orcish, and elvish blood, he's lived on the periphery of the periphery, lying, cheating, and stealing to survive.

After a run of bad luck, he's made a powerful enemy who seeks his head.

But that's where his rise to power begins. Thanks to an unexpected alliance with a fanged friend, the druidic powers locked within him come to life. He has all the tools he needs to turn things around, he just need to master them.

Because you can never underestimate a Street Rat...

Don't miss this progression fantasy series perfect for fans of Dishonored, The Blacktongue Thief, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and Baldur’s Gate!

About the Series: A slow-burn progression fantasy focused on an Anti-hero MC with a code rising through the criminal underworld of a city-state using newfound powers and quick wits. MC's powers will develop slowly, but he will use them in creative ways to get ahead, and in the meantime he'll do whatever it takes.

I love how it shows the perspective of what it would be like in a fantasy world. The different race gangs are an awesome take on real life prison and their segregated cliques. Really cool concept 9/10 stars. Worth the credit.

I like the dark and gritty style of the book.

What a good book. Truly a great mashup of some of my favorites. Fury of the gods, Locke Lamora and Gangs of New York all mixed together!

A Druid of exceptional promise

Interesting book. Dark, borderline anti-hero (at times) as the MC. Interesting revenge tale. Clearly will be a follow up book in that there are loose ends to be tied up in a later book. I'll be keeping an eye out for the next book.

Enjoyable. Curious to know what happens next

Heath M. brought all the characters to life and it was an awesome experience. CB Titus created a really cool world and story that kept me engaged the entire time. 7/7 would recommend.

Exceptional story and narration

The story and the moving parts all added up to make good sense. I just didn’t care for the characters; they were mostly just ok, none seemed particularly cool, MC included. It also had very little magic was shown outside of the MC’s abilities, which were ok.

It was a well put together, but not as entertaining as I thought it would be. To me.
