The Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller!

What is wrong
meets what feels right in this romance set in Italy by the New York Times bestselling author of Deep End.

Maya Killgore is twenty-three and still in the process of figuring out her life.

Conor Harkness is thirty-eight, and Maya cannot stop thinking about him.

It’s such a cliché, it almost makes her heart implode: older man and younger woman; successful biotech guy and struggling grad student; brother’s best friend and the girl he never even knew existed. As Conor loves to remind her, the power dynamic is too imbalanced. Any relationship between them would be problematic in too many ways to count, and Maya should just get over him. After all, he has made it clear that he wants her gone from his life.

But not everything is as it seems—and clichés sometimes become plot twists.

When Maya’s brother decides to get married in Taormina, she and Conor end up stuck together in a romantic Sicilian villa for over a week. There, on the beautiful Ionian coast, between ancient ruins, delicious foods, and natural caves, Maya realizes that Conor might be hiding something from her. And as the destination wedding begins to erupt out of control, she decides that a summer fling might be just what she needs—even if it’s a problematic one.

It took a little while, but the main female character grew on me.
By the end I was in love with both of the main characters and wanted more of their story.
It was an adjustment from Therese Plummer to this female narrator, but I think it was ncessary for Maya's character and she did a good job.
As for the male narrator, I am use to hearing him on a whole different genre, so it was an adjustment, but not bad either. Glad it was dual narration.

Great Story

I really enjoyed this audiobook overall - and for that matter all the Ali Hazelwood books I've listened to.
I have never been disappointed in any of her books.
The female narrator was excellent for this character. The voice was age appropriate and her vocal interpretation of Maya's personality was spot on.
That being said, I felt the total opposite for the male narrator. In fact, in the beginning of the story I almost returned this book it bothered me so much. A bad - or inappropriate - narrator usually turns me off to a book in a heartbeat. I'll even have to say I would probably steer clear of books in the future with this person (Sorry!)
I was glad, however, that I continued to listen because I was still able to enjoy the story and even the banter between these 2 characters in spite of the male narration.
For me - for this book - I would recommend reading instead of listening.

Love Ali Hazelwood

The story is simple, the setting outstanding, especially having recently been in Taormina. Literally hated the male narrator. Otherwise it would have been perfect.

Fun and sweet. Great setting.

I love an Ali Hazelwood story she mixes humor, science, romance, and broody MMC so well. Plus the most lovable FMC put in the most awkward and dramatic situations.

Witty, Sexy, & Romantic, an Ali Hazelwood Special.

This was my first Ali Hazelwood book, and I don’t think her stories are for me. I could not finish this book. It got to a point where I no longer cared about what happened to the main character. I could not understand why she was still hung up on Connor. Based on how annoying and immature she was, he had a valid argument about their age difference.

Not For Me
