This was an incredibly enjoyable listen, and I savored every moment! This marked my first experience with Elliott's work, and I can confidently say it will not be my last. I truly appreciated the depth of the characters' perspectives, intricate journeys, and the deliciously charged tension and chemistry between them. The book skillfully balanced forbidden love, heartfelt romance, and tantalizing spice, creating an intoxicating blend that enthralled me.

As I listened, I kicked my feet and squealed excitedly at some pivotal moments. The spice within the story developed beautifully over time, gradually building in intensity rather than overwhelming me right from the start. A sublime escalation led to an exhilarating peak, but saying I was swooning from the beginning would be an understatement. This story whisked me through a whirlwind of emotions—from shock to heart eyes—ultimately leaving me feeling heated and wiping away tears from sheer passion and connection.

Elliott indeed possesses a remarkable talent for crafting a captivating narrative! I completely adored this book and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. Now, I eagerly await the release of book two so I can dive deeper into Storm’s story!

Amy Hall and Gabriel Spires were nothing short of perfect for the roles of Layla and Colt. Their remarkable talent and skill are evident, making it no surprise that they excel in their craft. Their performances as narrators have a magnetic quality that captivates listeners, effortlessly drawing them into the rich tapestry of the audiobook’s universe. In this captivating production, Hall and Spires brought the characters to vivid life, skillfully embodying the essence of Layla and Colt with every nuance and emotion. Their outstanding delivery transformed the story into an immersive experience, allowing me to lose myself entirely in the narrative. Thanks to their incredible performances, I found immense joy in this book's audiobook format!

The two main characters are obviously attracted to one another. But the attraction is very taboo. Feelings could be hurt. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were excellent. So much angst in this book as well as some good suspense. Certain parts of this book make me cry. Ok, ok. The MMC eventually made up for making me emotional. LOL. This is the first in the series and I’m going to dive into the next one when this one’s done. There is growth of the characters that I loved and really good spice. I loved the bonus novella, too! I would definitely recommend this novel and novella (Bouquets and Buckles).

I did laugh once because a gelding is a male horse, and they call Fizz a girl after saying “my bay gelding”. Other than that, it’s a great story.

I loved this book and I loved the narration. It was so good! I cannot wait for book 2. The novella at the end was the perfect bow on top!
