Look, here's the thing.

I'm young, carefree, and my job as the assistant to Holt, manager and owner of the Goliaths of Wrestling, means I'm surrounded by half-naked beefcake wrestlers all day. Of course, I'm going to be interested in… getting to know them all better. It would be, like, illegal for me not to lust after them all, right?

There's just one hurdle I have to get over first before I can… get to know the wrestlers in the way I want. And that hurdle makes me really, really freaking nervous.

So I come up with an amazing idea. Holt's bodyguard Seb, a werewolf, is the quiet, dependable, calm presence in the office. He's safe. He's not as intimidating as the wrestlers, and we're kind of buddies, so I decided to ask him for help with my little… predicament.

Just for some practice. Before I move on to the big leagues. That's all it is. Practice.

I'm the foolish old wolf who's pined after Larkin since the moment he started working here. I've had to watch him flirt with all the wrestlers, listen to him talk about how much he wants them, and act like I didn't care, and it's never gotten easier.

At least no one knows. I can never tell him. He's too young for me, too carefree and irresponsible, and he's never shown even a hint of being interested in me that way. Mentally, I've accepted it. My heart, however, is a different matter.

Then he comes to me with a ridiculous proposition. Something I never thought I'd get to experience, something I should absolutely turn down, but I can't. I'm not strong enough to deny myself. And I want to help Larkin in any way I can.

It's just practice for him. I have to keep reminding myself of that, every time I get to touch him—every time he's pressed against me, every time he falls asleep on my chest. He doesn't want me. He just wants… lessons. Practice.

That's all it is. Practice.

Love It!

This was a great sequel to the first book Impromptu Match! Larkin is such a cutie! Seb is a sweetheart! Plus, we get a bit more of Holt and Taylor and the wrestlers. These books are so much fun to listen to and I’m excited for the next one!

Lily does it again! Her books are like a nervous system reset. So much sweetness, some silliness, and understanding. Not to mention the more X rated bits. The narrators are top notch too. Just spend the credit and give it a listen, you will not be disappointed!

This was just as good if not better than the first book. The story was great, the steamy scenes were excellent and there were A LOT of them.
The narration was perfect!
I’d highly recommend if you are in the fence on this one.

Why two narrators???

I absolutely love this book and all the books in the series so far. Michael did the first book by himself and they should have kept it that way or found someone else to be co-narrator . Liam‘s monotone voice does not match the feel of these books. It is almost painful to listen to the chapter’s narrated by Liam. There’s no emotion and he makes Seb’s character sound like a d**k and he is far from it. I feel like they needed a narrator that expresses more emotion to compliment Michael. Not sure I will continue listening to this series.

Seb is the best

Larkin as a character is hard to really love at first because he's such a hot mess, but Seb sees the good in him, and that really conws through. Their relationship progression is soooo sweet. Love the growth and the respect between them. Seb is ALL the green flags!!!

I loved the book so much that I bought audiobook and reread it after I already read it twice 😁 Narration is faaabulous! I loved the book even more after I listened to it! The voices, the acting skills of the narrators! I added them to the list of my favorite - Michael Ferraiuolo and Liam DiCosimo ❤️‍🔥 Great work! Also since we meet Holt and Taylor here too, I realized that I love Holt’s voice soo much that I’ll listen to the first book as well 🙃

Clean Finish I liked more than Impromptu Match and it is my favorite of this series so far :) The first book was full of silly jokes and very specific kinky stuff and I was expecting something similar from the second one too. But Clean Finish has more sweet and classic relationship development :) I also love that the beginning overlaps with a part of the previous book so that we know what else happened before and after Holt’s copy machine incident 😄

We get to see a lot of pining, certain love lessons between MCs and dating (even though they don’t realize they do that) which doesn’t help Seb n his predicament with his feelings for Lark 💔 And it is not even a bit funny how far he fell already.
We get to know their super cool families, who are very cute in Lark’s case! I loved them on both sides though 🤗

It is light and low angst even with all the potential broken hearts and “using Seb to have all the wrestlers under Lark’s belt” situation.
I would say it is slow burn even though they start their physical relationship pretty early :)

Yes, Seb is werewolf and it influences their experience in bed eventually but the plot is focused on relationship and is not a werewolf smut some people might expect it to be. Just so you know.

They both have their own insecurities and fears and it was interesting and heart melting to see the process of their interactions to change 🤍
Lark seemed so confident and bratty in Impromptu Match and how shy and vulnerable he is here! Seb seemed so calm and collected and now we see his caring and passionate side too 💕

Loved crosswords, video games (reminded me of my own nostalgia for old game consoles), cooking and all the wings & tails 💗

Wondering now who will be next! Maybe the new IT man? Then who will he be with? 😏 Can’t wait!!
