Vince finds himself going up in the underworld, but the mafia is far from the only gang in town.

The city is abuzz with an international sorcerer's conference, and the mayor is cracking down hard on anything that might make him look bad. But Vince is out to get that bag. That means fulfilling his enforcer contract for the mob, police crackdown be damned.

Other powers in the underworld aren't sleeping either. Vince still has a vampire assassin after his head, his enemy's powerful backers don't appreciate losing territory, and there's a new player on the prowl with an interest in the Lionetti Family.

Oh, and Vince's girlfriend and the mafia don's sister have some seriously bad blood between them. Might want to sort that out before they literally tear him in half while fighting.

The Wait was worth it!!!!

I've been waiting for the audio book for so long I've reread the book like 8 times. The action and comedy are top notch. The romantic interest are all top tier girls. Once again the only author that has gotten me to love a super tall girl. The amount of tail play makes me think I have a new fetish. Epic fight at the end of the book is so intense i had to listen to it twice.I can't wait for book three and what the future of the series will bring and Stephanie Savannah does another great job bringing all the characters to life.

this was really good and something new to the genre

I liked the story. I am very curious how things will progress. it seems he is going to get a power up soon and I have no idea what the plan is for that

Even better than the first.

I find myself very fortunate to have started this series with the second book already out. This feels like a strict upgrade in quality from the first (which is amazing as well); a few hours longer, more underworld politics, seeing more of the setting, and more fights. The magic system is really fun to think about, and honestly as a TTRPG fan I've been stuck thinking about how I'd want a game in setting to run. Stephanie hits the voicing out of the park again, and my only complaint is that we need to wait until around December for more (from the look of things.)

Getting the next installment of things you like several times throughout the year is rather spoiling, I'd say. Can't wait for book 3.

Book 2 keeps you hooked

So far I am really enjoying the series. the writing is done well and the story telling is fantastic! I can hardly wait for book 3.

Great character development and relationship focus

Focus on the relationships and romance was a good step in the right direction. KDR writes great plots and stories but can leave behind the relationships and character interactions that I read for sometimes.

Biggest complaint is that I could summarize the plot of this book in like 2 sentences, yet the book is 10+ hours long; so when I say that it was kinda boring and slow, you know where I’m coming from.

How about closing some loose plot threads for once as well, instead just adding more.

If the next book doesn’t feel like progress is being made along the main storyline and for the women I know will be added to the family then I might drop the series or wait for a sale and binge them when I run out of other things.

Those negatives aside; the story is good. Narration is excellent as always from SS. The little (but at least more than the first book) spice we get is great too! So if you like the drawn out machinations of KDR’s stories, then this is one for you!

More of a Good Thing.

If you enjoyed the first book, you'll more than likely enjoy this one. What started as simple play for territory is rapidly turning into an all out gang war that could change entire cities criminal structure. The fights are much bigger, more characters are in play, and the plot becomes even more interesting.

...of course that also means more fluffiness, but that goes without saying.

Small world getting bigger

It builds upon the volume one. It does it best world build even with our main character hate it lol.

Great book, I’m really loving this series and Stephanie Savannah does an amazing job as always hopefully they will keep producing more audio books together.
