Publisher's summary

Damien had planned it all out.

He had the support of his wealthy parents, loyal friends who shared his goals, even a high-ranked Core just waiting for him to use. One more Dungeon run and he would be set–he was finally going to take the first real step on the path to fame and fortune as a Hero. The future was so bright, he needed shades to see it.

Was, in the past tense. Because Damien just died.

Instead of the pearly gates awaiting him, though, he's been reborn, placed in control of a Dungeon... and now might be a good time for him to reconsider everything he thought he knew about the way the universe works.

Great magic system

Love the magic system here. The MC doesn't get the USUAL mc treatment of OP at the start and has to learn the ropes. Very good pacing

Beyond dungeon core

This was absolutely fantastic and I'm so glad I tried it was a whim. The system is still familiar, but completely novel at the same time. It was nice to have some very minimal stats rather than getting boged down with it. It's slow build in the romance and the spicy stuff works so well with the story that it doesn't detract from the narrative.

Just what i needed!

Ive not tried this author or reader before, but love Dungeon Core, so I decided to give this a try for sure!

I loved how this integrated with a character from Earth, and the culture references were tasteful, and rare. Enough to add humor, but not enough to be distracting or take away from the situation. The beginning of the book was nothing like I expected at all, and i enjoyed learning along with the MC on how to be a dungeon.

Fantastic

This book was a dungeon core book which I initially didn’t suspect, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, this was a lot more story line and character development focused than many others in the dungeon core genre. Definitely worth your time, this is going to be an awesome series.

Good for a first outting!

I definitely enjoyed this book. I thought the narrator was fantastic. My one and only grape is at the main character spends far too much time in his own head. like a good 5 minutes of just talking about things he's thinking about without doing anything... it gets old. That and the horse cock made me roll my eyes hard.

Again, good book but stop getting list in the character's thoughts.

A dungeon builder lover's dream.

If you love the ins and outs of building a dungeon this is the book for you.
In fact it feels like the author wrote a textbook and the editor said, "There needs to be some story in there as well." And so the author threw something onto the textbook.
But once Mina comes into the story, maybe a quarter of the way through (?) there's where the story for the rest of us comes in.
This is a great story. There's just a lot of dry information at the beginning.
I am really looking forward to book 2 to see if our dungeon MC can get back to his Earth and get his revenge, and maybe another girl for his harem.
I'm giving this book 6.5 out of 5 stars.

Great book, fresh MC. Narrator though..

Lets get this out of the way. The narrator does a good job with the voices. No actual complaints with the narration. However, there are noticeable volume differences, mispronunciations (Atleast 30 very noticeable ones i saw. And no, they are not accent differences but rather completely wrong ways to say these words.) and a few cases of audio from other places in the book being straight up spliced in the middle somewhere they don't belong. So, the first two obviously are a case of the narrator doing something slightly annoying to people like me, and the last is straight up bad editing that i assume are not her fault.

Going on-wards to the actual story... I liked it. At first i really hated the main character, he seemed the exact type of character and person i cannot stand. However as time developed as well as his story, and you get to see his thought process that changed. There are times here and there where he gets too into his own head and goes off on tangets that are too long. While yes, that is his character and part of what i like about him some times it really could have been cut shorter. I especially like how when his world view is challenged later on, he thinks about that and more on things he assumed to be correct. This type of character would be unbearable without that aspect, so for the author to take that into consideration it makes it really shine.

The world-building and general setting are at once very interesting and mysterious but not expanded on enough. Things like dungeon chat, the dungeons origin, the way that everything works is a genuine puzzle that I'm hoping is expanded on more, should there be a sequel.

To the author and narrator, you both did a wonderful job. For the next book, maybe just get the mic levels a bit better for people like me who have earphones and pretty sensitive hearing and make sure the weird splices don't happen again. Looking forward to whatever comes next.
