Many things go bump in the night, and I am one of them.
I made a deal with a god, with death itself, to save someone I love.
I thought I had the upper hand, but I was wrong. From the moment he saw me, this god was determined to make me his… but his life is filled with death and is no place for the living. Trying to survive his world might just turn me into one of the lost souls that surround him.
But I have my own secrets, my own past.
What happens when a god and a mistake meet? What happens when neither will back down?
It's all or nothing with us. Before our deal is through, one of us will have lost everything. I will not let that be me.
Welcome to the Court of Death, where all life comes to an end…

After making a bargain with Death, Avea is stuck with him. But I think she soon finds out, along with him, she doesn't mind that. Not in the least, at least, she tries to deny that fact anyway. Vampires meets Gods. And so much more.
Who knew Death could love? OH come on, I did.

When Avea finds her best friend is dying, she makes a deal with the God of Death so that her friend survives what should have been a death blow. Avea has to spend 10 years with the God of Death in exchange for her friend’s life.
What Avea doesn’t realize is that she will end up with more than she bargained for as she figures out what she really is while staying with Mors, also known as the God of Death. Will she survive this knowledge?

After finishing and absolutely loving Court of Nightmares, I was so excited to get into this book. It took me a bit to get into this one, though, and I was disappointed about that.
I didn’t enjoy this one as much as Court of Nightmares but I think I’m biased since I prefer RH novels, I’ve found. I did like all the sex scenes, though. I feel like this book wasn’t missing out in that area.
I love K.A. Knight for the smut that I feel like she seems to write better than a lot of the authors I’ve read lately. I plan on finishing this series this year and re-read it in due time.
I feel that the God of Death was quite cocky but I wouldn’t change him for all the world. I prefer him to be the way he is because he’d be a mess if he changed. I love him just the way he is.
My favorite part about this novel is Avea. I love her backstory and I feel like she is just what Mors needs. I was hoping she’d find out who and what she is before the end of the book and I was glad she got that.
I am a reactive reader and I let out entirely too many screams as the book unfolded, which makes me giggle. I am so glad I was listening through headphones when I was listening to this book while out in public. lmao
The resolution between Avea and the gods was definitely in everyone’s best interest, that’s for sure. I hate that it had to come to this and it left me with a certain amount of disgust but we can’t have everything we want. lmfao
Avea and Mors deserve a happily ever after and it makes me angry that they almost didn’t get it. I know they would’ve gotten one since this book is a standalone novel but I was still worried a bit for a moment there. lol
I would definitely recommend this book and the entire series. If you don’t mind the smut, then I would definitely pick this book up. I’d read Court of Nightmares first, though.
Wooooow!

Court of Death was average on plot, characters, and banter. The romance and spice was nice, but not the quality of other KA Knight books.
Probably a book I will forget in a month.
Little disappointed- this wasn't as fun to read as Court of Nightmares.
Not as good as Court of Nightmares
