Long have we been alone; without brides, without females to warm us during the long nights, without sweet mates.
But we see them from afar, the brides that could be ours. Kept away from us by walls and weapons. Females we long for greatly...obsessively. Human females. And the one with red hair? I want her. I saw her first.
I will fight to the death for her. She is mine. So, we’ll come together and make an exchange with their men that will benefit us all. After that? To the winner goes the spoil. Let the hunt begin...but the red-headed female is mine.
Viper is the first book in Naga Brides, a series about bride-hunting aliens with the charm of a snake, the wiles of the devil, and the will to do anything for their females.

The only con with this series is, the males have no legs..
so, the story is great but a legless man is cringeworthy as in uuugh.
Interesting

The world building was on track. It does, obviously, have spice. The spice made me feel icky, as I’ve already explained above. Also, I can’t say that my brain found snake men attractive, so I told my brain that they were men with lizard tails. If you find snakes sexy, I won’t yuck your yum. The book really didn’t reach much of a plot peak for me, but did set up for the next book. It was meant to be a cliffhanger, but I didn’t feel invested enough to care. The narrators were good, nothing negative to say and nothing extraordinary.
MMC was confusing by the end for me. He acted like he was more brute/animal/base needs, but then he has moments of being very intelligent and working computers. MFC was fine, I guess. She’s a little confusing, too. She describes herself as basically past her best years (physically), that she never got undressed in front of past partners, and put all of her focus on career… but then suddenly started trying to manipulate him like she thought she was a pro?
I’m not reading further in the series. It didn’t keep my attention sparked and I didn’t like the ick.

Well written but not my cup of tea

I'm usually not a fan of overarching stories where the plot develops between multiple books unless its the same characters. however this does have an ending so it's not nessacary to keep reading.
hot and scaley
