Publisher's Summary

He's cocky, seven feet tall, scaly, and green. She's been burned in the past. Can an alien and a human woman find true love together?

Burned by an ex, the last thing Evie wants is a husband, especially a seven-foot-tall, green-skinned alien. But when she applies to the Extraterrestrial Matchmaking Service on a dare, she's paired with Vork and sent to Crakair as a mail-order bride. Vork is big and dangerous, and he hits all her buttons. Passion sparks between them, but does she dare trust this sexy alien with her heart?

As a career spacefleet commander, the last thing Vork has time for is a mate. But after a mix-up, he's matched with a human female. He decides he'll produce a child with her, then get back to his life in the stars. Until he touches Evie and a matebond flares on his palm. When a rival warlord challenges Vork and Evie is the prize, Vork will have to decide: give Evie up, or battle to the death to claim her as his bride.

Vork is book one in the Mail-Order Brides of Crakair series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Fully romance

The story was good for what it was. It is truly romance and erotic scenes with a little bit of hardship sprinkled in. I do like sci-fi romances but I prefer it be predominantly adventure with romance sprinkled in. The narrators did a good job. I won’t be pursuing the series.

REAL LOVE IN AN ALIEN UNIVERSE

Terrific job by author, Ava Ross and narrator, Tawnia Murray who have not only honored but also surpassed the traditional Sci-fi romance formula, namely: Anything goes in space:...Just crank up the volume on the Action, Sex, and Love melodrama.
The context for this story IS certainly other worldly with some quirky twists.
There is plenty of heart-throbbing romance, and eroticism in which nearly everything throbs...joyfully graphic without ever becoming pornographic.
However, what sets this book apart is that it is written and performed so that the relationships between the earth brides and their gigantic, green scaled, well-endowed, alien, prospective hubbies are heart-warmingly familiar. They have been imbued with all the emotions and concerns we expect from real live, ordinary, human couples: hopes, fears, shy hesitation, daring horniness, awkward misunderstanding, flirtatious humor, wounded loss of trust and determined commitment...
As a result we end up identifying with and genuinely caring about these would be lovers...
The fact that they are navigating through a bizarre world where they might take a bath with sweat eating fishy creatures, head off to a living plant bed and get it on with highly tuned erotic appendages we all wish we had...just makes it all the more fun!
A wonderful, engaging experience...
Look forward to the rest of the series.
(I give the performance 5 stars despite the fact that Ms. Murray's "Co-narrator's" style is so jarringly different from her own buoyantly human tone that it often completely interrupts the story's flow.)

Great!

I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. The story was so so but the female narrator had a way of bringing it to life that kept me listening and enjoying the adventure. Sometimes the male narrator sounded a bit cartoonish but overall I thought it was a fun, little book.

Okay

Not sure why but this story was a little boring; I was easily distracted from it. Storyline was much of the same in the genre; didn’t have enough action or drama to hold my attention. The guy on the cover could definitely hold my attention. Narrators were fine, the story could be better.

Ok story, good and bad narration

The story is okay. The male narrator does a fantastic job for the female narrator is just terrible and every time you get to a chapter read by it pulls you out of the story. it's really unfortunate

New author for me, was happy I tried her book!

This was a good beginning to a continuing series. Mail-order brides is quite a common theme in scifi romances but I like how well-rounded this story was.
Characters were likable and I only had one 'cringe' moment in the whole story. I think that's pretty good. 😉

The female narrator had a bit monotonous voice occasionally, but overall both did a good job.

I recommend trying this series, it's an easy listen and at least in this first book we get a long sneak peak to the next one..

Leave your brain at home

This is very much simplistic entertainment. I skipped the sex scenes, so can’t comment on them. There is pretty much no plot at all and a lot of stupid mistakes, which drove me crazy (eg: bugs which eat all dead skin, but not hair, which as is also dead cells). If you are OK with the above issues, then it is well performed and has a HEA
