Publisher's summary

I have lost my chance to claim a bride.

No more females remain. They have all been taken by naga males that will kill to keep them.

So, when I hear a female scream within my territory, I do not hesitate. I go after her, intending to claim her for my own and prove my strength. My worth.

This is my chance.

Except… she is not one of the human females I have come to know. She has just arrived. She is hurt, afraid, and fleeing from another male.

But she does not want to be saved; she wants to fight. And she does not want to bask in my nest; she wants to leave. She has secrets, and she refuses to share them. This human female is far more than I bargained for…

Good thing I'm up to the challenge.

Boomslang is the fifth book in the Naga Brides series. With the charm of a snake and the wiles of a devil, these bride-hunting aliens will do anything, and I mean anything, for their females.

This is Azsote's story.

Well Worth the Credit

Another outstanding book in the Naga Bride series. I got the Audible book the first day it was released and finished it the next day. The narrators were excellent. I am anxiously awaiting the next Audible book in the series.

Good series!

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Love that it’s different for the genre! I love new concepts of creatures and these on Earth and what all happened could really happen.so, that makes me like it even more. Our government would betray another for their own selfishness. although I did enjoy this one, I wish some of it was different. Such as you’re pretty fertile as you first start having the early signs of menopause, it would’ve been nice if she could’ve conceived once naturally and with a man she loves. Especially with her past. And since the Naga sperm is so potent. They all are almost extinct and I think they all deserve at least one offspring to carry on their species. Maybe, in a future installment she can get her hands on her eggs and her mate could the father this time. You never know. Enjoyed the narration from both as well. I also liked the some of the humans were decent and helped out. We’re not all assholes, just the majority, 🤣

Another terrific Naga story!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚❤️💜💖
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 🤓😉☺️😍🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Laura - she helps Celeste from Death Adder get away in the pod from the team of humans while they all try to get away in their ship. Though the ship gets into trouble near Earth which has been taken over by a race of sentient humanoid snakes. Laura is fascinated by those beings though the captain of the Dreadknot wants to keep it secret. Celeste had brought Laura proof of the Naga, but Laura ends up having to get into a pod as well and crashes on Earth. Now the Captain of the Dreadknot is after Laura.

The Hero: Azsote - He nearly got a woman last time the ships came to Earth, but this time he sees some ships land, he plans to get a woman of his own. He moves toward the sound as soon as he can and sees rival Scioscu chasing her. He fights against Scioscu and Scioscu is captured and taken into a large ship. Azsote dodges the second ship when it comes after him and rushes into the trees after Laura.

The Story: When the ships from the Dreadknot comes after Laura and Azsote, she realizes he is protecting her from the ships trying to get them both. She thinks he is beautiful and remembers Celeste telling her that some of the Naga are good, and the fact that their scent can be addictive, so she tries to stay away from him, to not breathe in his scent. She is surprised that he speaks the common language but wants to keep her distance.

“Don’t claim me,” I warn, frozen, too afraid to move. “Don’t you dare.”
He cups my nape and leans back, taking his heat and his overwhelming presence with him. “I dared.”

I have read and listened to more than a few books now where one of the main characters is not quite as humanoid as I would like. Some are much better than others. Sometimes the fact that a main character is so different really bothers me, but I really have liked every book in this series. The way I figure it, sentient is sentient and so I can see the love story. Though the book has to be compelling for me to overcome the yuk factor and these books do that well. I like the storylines and how the characters get to know each other. The world building is terrific as well. The explanations of Azsote’s home/nest are great and the landscape. The one thing I don’t like about this series is how messy the intimate scenes seem. Suffice it to say, the Naga have a lot of seed and it ends up everywhere.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by John Masterson and Elizabeth Hart. Elizabeth isn’t one of my favorite narrators, I think there is something about her voice which I don’t like, but she does a fine job. I like John Masterson’s deep voice which is perfect for the Naga.

Loving this series

There are NOT standalone books - if you are new to this series please start at the beginning to get the greatest enjoyment as world building reveals happen in each book. This book in particular has the full cast of Brides and Nagas so it helps to know their backgrounds before reading/listening to this one.

As for this book, I really loved it. I loved that it was an older woman and Naga pairing. I loved that the humans are becoming a bigger threat with their weapons so some of the reveals in earlier books are being brought to the front again. I don't think the next book (Cottonmouth) will focus on it, but the Lurkers are still a threat and maybe distantly the Ketts. This series has so much going for it and I really hope eventually there is a Naga Husbands spin off or novellas (M/M or F/M) since Genesis 8 works on all humans.

Seriously, I kinda hated the first book because Vruksha is mean and a bit rapey, but the world building got me hooked. The 2nd book redeemed the series for me and now I can't wait for the next installment. I would absolutely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys sci-fi/monster romances with a bit of a dark omegaverse edge to them.

Interesting Storyline

Storyline is interesting and entertaining; kept me actively listening. The interactions between the different Naga tribes and Humans was the most fascinating to me when learning about each other. The narrators did a good job with characters. Looking forward to the next installment if there is one.

One of the best in the Naga Brides Series

I STILL can’t get enough of this series and itt was so awesome to see a multitude of characters,, both from older stories,, and getting to meet new faces, both human and naga. I love the strong and smart FMC, and more so that she doesn’t get pressured with having children, and that menopause was embraced!

The plot thickens!!

If you have been following this series, will will not want to miss this book. If you haven’t been following the series, you must start. Of all the Naga stories that have been written, this series is by far these best. I have enjoyed the series so much that I had to purchase it in paperback as well. This book has many twists and turns as well as leaving open doors for many future books. I am desperate for the next one. I refuse to give away any details, just now that the pace, action, plot, and holy heck for the spice are all incredible. Thank you Naomi for another top tier book.
