Never promise a fey anything.

With magic leaking back into our world, working the nightshift as a paramedic comes with danger. But I handle it. I’ve got a shotgun for the zombies, and my lycanthropic rage hasn’t escaped my apartment. Life is normal-ish. All that changes when I’m called to help a dying fey knight and I make a promise.

There’s a little girl with big eyes and a heart-rending sniffle. I can’t say no. Of course she’s not human. She’s their key to opening the long-closed gates and feasting on humanity.

Now, an entire world I know nothing about is trying to kill me. And if I don’t protect her, the teeth around my heart will finish the job. If I learn fast and bargain the right parts of my soul, the girl and I might make it out alive. Otherwise the cruelest winter will freeze even the warmest hearts in the city.

Listen to my story now and ride along for a wild emergency shift.

Includes bonus story Twilight Run.

The summary is such a good plot line, but the story just doesn’t deliver. It’s so complicated, and not easy to follow at all. At a several points I ended up wondering how she got there, or what happened that I missed. I’d have to rewind several times, and I was still confused, so I kept going. At the end I couldn’t finish it. The performance is alright. She whispers a lot, and the confusing plot doesn’t help her at all. If you try this book, GOOD LUCK!

I wish this was better…

The shifter market is definitely crowded these days, but Full Moon Medic still kept me hooked. Dan Potter does excellent world building and the characters are all distinct, with their own unique flaws and abilities they bring to the table. The plot doesn't necessarily break mountains of new ground, but there are plenty of unique twists on established tropes for the genre, and it kept me glued to my headphones. The audio is definitely on the quiet side, but the overall performance is fine despite what other reviewers have said. I already picked up book 2 and I'm looking forward to listening.

I am still wrapping my head around this book! I listened to this whole book in one snow day and there were times I felt like I had fallen down Alice’s rabbit hole. This book was crazy, fun and blended so much into a gripping story. I went in with an open mind and was greatly entertained. I know some listeners complained about the narrator whispering but she was portraying a scared little girl and a creepy scary creature. The whisper voice made it all the more terrifying. I thought she did an amazing job with this story. I’m looking forward to the second book!

Just saying it's not what I thought it would be is saying the least... it was so much more!! Different is not always bad and in this case it's a very good thing. If your looking for something different think about this book...
