Publisher's summary

Nick O'Flannigan needs a break.

The Austin music scene is just the ticket, and throwing in a little recreation seems like a good idea. But a local musician has been killed, and a new friend of Nick's wants his help. However, the police have warned him off the case, and he really doesn't want to be involved.

One step back

But something is wrong. There's a critical clue, a footprint at the scene, and only Nick seems to suspect it means something more. Will his insight save the day, or will he find himself once again in deep trouble?

From a deep mystery, some great music, and the gritty atmosphere of Austin, Texas, you won't want to miss this travel murder mystery, the next in the Capital City Murders series.

Another great adventure

This was another great adventure for Nick. He is always making friends with the locals in the city he is working on at the time. I feel that you will not be disappointed in listening to Nick's adventures. I did receive this book for an honest review.

Music & Murder

This is the 14th book in the series and Nick has traveled to Austin, Texas. Nick is pulled into a murder investigation in spite of the fact that his reluctance to be part of murder investigations is growing. I find this series to be well written and entertaining. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I recommend this series to everyone who enjoys murder mysteries. Joseph L Stevenson's narration is excellent. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Great story!

Another great mystery for Nick to solve! Nick O'Flannagan is a professional photographer and is on an assignment to go to each capital city and get photographs for a travel book. The series has taken him to 13 cities so far and this is his fourteenth stop. As with all the other books the story caught my attention from the start and held my interest till the end. Nick is a great character,  friendly and easy to get along with and he makes friends in every city he visits. The story is well-written and filled with intrigue and you will even learn a little about the history and some interesting facts about the city. Another great addition to the series!

Baskerville Book Reviews

I’ve been stumped for a few hours, trying to find anything to say about this mystery. It’s just not interesting anymore. It feels like ‘we’re’ just going through the motions. Obligatory scenes of Shaggy telling his new girlfriend he loves her a dozen times, cops being dicks, a mystery with clues that you’d likely never put together. The series (to me) has lost any of the charm it had. It feels as if there are 3 distinct groups in this saga. The first 5~ were alright but needed serious work. The next 5 got it right, and these last 4, probably 5 are all just janky and lacking any real charm.

As always, the narrator does a passable job at narration.
