A girly, simplistic story

I'm probably not the target audience, based on book database rating I expected a better story. classic clichés, flat characters.

Couldn't stop listening

I loved the story and the narrator was excellent! Only a few chapters in I got so invested in this fantasy world and finished it in two days (I still had to study a bit in between...). If you love fantasy mixed with cunning drama, a dash of romance and a great bunch of fight scenes, you need to get this book.
Okay, I'm off to get the next one.

Narrator not my fave

Her character voices are just awful -- they all have this really annoying cartooney vocal affectation. All the male characters sound like Tim Gunn. Very unnatural and exaggerated. I think she just might be a bad actress? Her accents are physically painful to listen to. I do like her general narration, her voice has a lovely tone to it. I kept listening bc I'm fully subscribed to the Maasiverse -- I'll just read the next ones. Can't take another book of cartoon voices.
