Wonderful, intriguing read

Daniel Kuhnley nails this prequel in so many ways. The neurotic feel of Alice as a blind teenager who is suspicious of people around her, the mystery of what is going on around her, the frustration of being a teenager with an overzealous and controlling parent... it’s all spot on.

If you’re already a fan of the Alice Bergman series, this is a must-read.

I really enjoyed this story. I look forward to listening to more books from Daniel Kuhnley. The narrator did an excellent job. Her voice really made the story that much better. I highly recommend this book!

Alice Bergman's Past

This story details some of Alice Bergman's past which helps to give to the reader more insight into how Alice became who she is. Daniel Kuhnley has created a complicated heroine and I enjoyed this view of Alice's history. TJ Spehar's narration is good and she helps to provide a voice for the characters in this story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

A thrilling ride through the mind of Alice

Once again a great story, that is well written and exciting to listen too. The performance was outstanding too. It was a great exploration into the mind of Alice and the formative elements of her character.

A Definite "Page Turner"...er "can't turn it off!"

I found myself pulled into this dark world rich in sensation and scent. Kuhnley delivers a dream-like narrative and gifts the reader with the sensations of what it is like to be vulnerable and blind (though only privately so...as it is often in life). I felt like I was traveling down a mysterious hole with Alice filled with darkness and danger. Spehar brilliantly narrates this darkness portraying such innocence, while still giving us glimpses of the fire that lies beneath that innocence...the strength, grit and integrity of Alice. She beautifully transitions to different characters, keeping you in the moment as the listener...traveling through the darkness with Alice...blind and questing. I definitely did not want to turn it off.
