Joshua and Daniel Duncan love Halloween. The unhealthy snacks, gory horror films, and corny decorations warm their teenage hearts like no other holiday ever could. However, on this Halloween night, someone special is at their front door. Someone they've known their whole lives. There's always room for family.

This was a well written and entertaining horror story. The narration was excellent. My only complaint is that I wish there was more! 19 Minutes is really quick. But still, a good story.

I would love to know how the narrator speaks naturally. He does good with the character voices but his narrating voice was a bit much. I get he’s narrating a “horror” or scary story, but I felt like he was overdoing the “creepy” voice (or his attempt at one). He sounds like he has a unique-sounding natural voice so him changing it as much as he did wasn’t working for me. He came across as sounding very cheesy, in my opinion.
Now, the story was okay. I’m honestly not sure what the author was going for exactly. Was the Aunt a monster and if so, what kind was she? Was she supposed to be an alien? I was lost there. Obviously the story had the Attack of the Body Snatchers vibe to it, but at least there, I knew it was aliens. The idea of a family member coming to you and acting strange and whatnot would be questionable, but the story didn’t leave me thinking of having read something scary per se, more like a suspense-type story. That’s just me though. I think it’s mainly because there were no explanations to anything. The Aunt creature, why it killed, why it tried to pass as human if it was only going to kill those around it (the nephew). Plain and simple, I don’t like having a lot of unanswered questions at the end, ones that I know will never be answered (like a book 2). I’m more of a straight-forward kind of person.
Not my cup of tea
