A delightful tale for the young...

I really enjoyed this story, its reminiscent of Charley and the chocolate factory mixed with a magic grandpa, I think the whole point in storytelling is giving the child something to think about and reflect on, even if they don't think they are...The dream of every child would be to actually be in a sweet shop! Even if the quests are not what you thought! (No spoilers) ...

I love stories with a moral lesson, and this certainly fits the bill...

The narrator has a nice sounding voice and did all the "voices" too. that makes the story even more magical...

Nice one!

Good creative story!

Fun adventurous story about a boy visiting a land where the people are made of candy and how some of them are afraid they will be eaten by humans! The story tells us that it is okay to be different. Good creative fun for probably 7-11 year olds, however I enjoyed it also. Only downfall was that there was a rather abrupt ending. I was gifted a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Good kids story

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author. This was a cute story but I wondered where it was going for a while. There is not a blaring moral to the story. Quite a lovely tale.

This is the third book I’ve listened to by this narrator and I would listen to another. He did a great job narrating this kids book. The other books I’ve listened to by him are in the An Trodai series. He does well giving each character a voice.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

So incredibly imaginative!

This is such a cool story - honestly never a dull moment. The author is so good at pulling you right into the story...you'll feel like you're inside the book itself. Her descriptions are amazing...I would really love to read more from Crystal Marcos, particularly fiction. In Bellyache she describes the boy's stomach ache (from start to finish) so well you'll find yourself having sympathy pains. But hang in there because there's a lot more to this story than just the belly ache...it takes you on a wild ride through a magical world (think Alice in Wonderland or Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). And the narrator is absolutely fantastic - what a soothing voice. This book is very special and my son loves listening to it before bed, it helps to lull him to sleep. Well, to be honest, we both love listening to it before bed and in that way it's safe to say that Bellyache is a good read for all ages :) I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Love Listening to the story. Meral Mathews did a great reading of the book and loved all the voices he did. Really is worth a listen.
