Kyra knows she's screwed. Trapped in a school while zombies stumble past just waiting for the survivors cowering inside to come out to play, she has no hope of getting out alive. She's not the only one either, and sexy fellow survivor Riley seems hellbent on making their last few hours alive memorable ones.

But in a twist of fate neither one could have seen coming, Kyra and Riley realize that they might not be facing the end after all. Even more, they're hit with the realization that what had started as a distraction might just turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to them. Assuming they can find somewhere safe.

After reading the first sweet book, I was hoping book 2 had more zombies and it didn't disappoint. It also had an epilogue and more heat but still a HFN.

Finally more zombies

Fighting for a Future: A Zombie Apocalypse Love Story, Book Two was another good read by Kate L. Mary. Kyra is trapped in a school while the zombies are going past. She knows that she has no hope of getting out alive. She isn’t the only survivor there, the sexy Riley is there as well. After some time, they figure out that the end may not be near like they thought. I really enjoyed reading Kyra and Riley’s story and cant wait to read more by Kate L. Mary.

This story had my heart racing ! I definitely recommend this book. If noises scary you I don’t recommend listening it at night. I have to make sure to stop listening before bed. It had me a little afraid to go to bed. It a story of surviving the end of the world.
The narrator does a great job with the characters and voices of each character making it easy to distinguish between characters.

End of the world!

The narrator wasn’t right for this story. I love the authors books. Characters are well developed. Narrator sounded very Valley Girl, which was not right for this story. I recommend the story for the tale.

I’ve listened to several books by Kate L. Mary. I’ve loved them all as well as found the narrators really good. On that note, while I liked this story a lot, I had an issue with the narrator. Now I’ve listened to book 4 of this series so I’m not sure if the narrator was still in the learning-as-she-goes phrase?! Book 4, she did really good. Book 2, not so much. She spoke really fast like she was rushed to get the story narrated because of time restraints or I don’t know what. My usual listen speed is 1.0; I turned it back to .75 and that just made her seem like she was talking really slowly. Obviously, I had hoped her voice would have been at a normal speed. Another issue was the fact she didn’t change her voice for the characters. They all sounded the same. My last issue is the way she speaks in general (at least with book 2). There were a lot of words that she dragged out like “heeyyyy.” I don’t know if that’s her usual way of speaking (can’t remember from book 4) but it was kind of annoying. So, again, I’m thinking she hadn’t been narrating for very long and was growing and learning as a narrator, hence she did better in book 4.

I only had one question this time around. There’s a part near the end when they’re talking about the island. Kyra says that she can’t wait to sunbathe. After going through the farmhouse, Riley brings up the fact there aren’t any swimsuits. Kyra’s response? She’ll just skinny dip then. Sunbathing and skinny dipping are two different things. I’ll just leave it at that.
