Publisher's summary

Could your life be better? Yes! Not due to a lack of effort on your part but because you are too nice and allow problematic people into your life. The only thing that matters is you and your opinions! Our identity and quality of life are entirely shaped by who and what we allow into our bubble! The only power you have in life is the control of your bubble -- your shield against problems and irritations.

To love people, you have to avoid most of them!

What did you like about this audiobook?

One of my most favorite passages from the book is:

“No one believes that listening to and tolerating bad music helps them love music more. It is the same with people – to love them you have to avoid most of them...”

I think this book has an important message for people of all ages, especially youngsters, who step out into the world believing that the more friends they make along the way, the better their lives would be.

Also, even the most successful person in the world can still feel unhappy and dissatisfied depending on whom he surrounds himself with. To lead a happy and successful life, you have to be mindful of whom you allow into your circle or ‘bubble’. This book doesn't state that the more interactions you have, the more disastrous your life would be. Instead, it inspires you to place greater value on your social environment and make space to focus on the important aspects of your life rather than inviting in unnecessary drama. Because, life is too short to be living with those who drain your peace of mind.

Changing your boundaries

This book describes a new and refreshing perspective on understanding the situation you are living in and adapting yourself to it. The title might give the impression that it is about putting blame on others to make you feel better. Instead it is quite the opposite. This book develops the fact that you are human and that you should not put too much blame on yourself if you find it difficult to cope with your situation or think that you miss out on things. Instead of putting blame on others or trying to adapt to difficult (and perhaps completely unnecessary circumstances), focus on looking at the situation you are in.

Most people would find a specific situation or set of circumstances difficult to handle and this would make them feel bad. If you instead look at what constitutes the boundaries of your situation, well there is something that could turn into real progress. And that's what this book is about. A great read!

This is awesome!

I've read a few self-help books by now but this one is by far the best and easiest to apply.
it is short enough to not take a few days from me and it is like a light bulb going up in my head.
of course! this isn't easy to apply to your life but when you start with small steps you realize that it's true what he tells you. this is really helpful.
