Trust Me

By: Brenda Novak

Narrated by: Allyson Johnson

Four years ago... Skye Kellerman was attacked in her own bed. She managed to fend off her knife-wielding assailant, but the trauma changed everything about her life. As a result of that night, she joined two friends - also survivors - in starting The Last Stand, an organization to help victims of crime. But now... Her would-be rapist is getting out of prison. Skye knows that Dr. Oliver Burke hasn't forgotten that her testimony cost him his reputation - and his freedom. Sacramento detective David Willis, who investigated her case, believes Burke is a clear and present danger - and guilty of at least two unsolved murders. And now Burke is free to terrorize Skye again. Unless David can stop him. Unless Skye can fight back. Because Oliver Burke has every intention of finishing what he started. And that's a promise. Good book, but...

The book itself has been wonderful. I'm a Brenda Novak fan. My only "complaint" is that the editing is a little odd. You'll be listening along, the chapter will end and at about the same time the last word of the chapter is spoken the number of the next chapter is said...almost simultaneously. It's weird. Other than that, I'd recommend the book!!

Lasting Stand

Favorite Author = Favorite Book

I read this book many years ago and I'm happy that Audible has it available. It's a great mystery romance story in which the heroine saves herself. Skye is one of the founders of a victim agency called Last Stand. She is resilient in seeking her own justice and putting her attacker back in prison. David, the detector, insistently helps by offering leads that Skye uses to catch her attacker. There are many sub-plots that makes listing more entertaining.

just ok.. not great, but not bad

just ok...not great, but not bad ... narrator was good but story didn't keep me at the edge of my seat

Awful audio editing

The audio editing is the worst I’ve ever listened to, not only does it cut off words at the end of chapters, but they replay the intro in the middle of the book and play music over sentences. SUPER ANNOYING

Greaf storyline and narrators

Worthe the credit. Brenda Novay never disappoints. Romances, Drama and thriller all in one book
