These High, Green Hills

By: Jan Karon

Narrated by: John McDonough

Join #1 New York Times bestselling author Jan Karon on a trip to Mitford—a southern village of local characters so heartwarming and hilarious you'll wish you lived right next door.

At last, Mitford's rector and lifelong bachelor, Father Tim, has married his talented and vivacious neighbor, Cynthia. Now, of course, they must face love's challenges: new sleeping arrangements for Father Tim's sofa-sized dog, Cynthia's urge to decorate the rectory Italian-villa-style, and the growing pains of the thrown-away boy who's become like a son to the rector. Add a life-changing camping trip, the arrival of the town's first policewoman, and a new computer that requires the patience of a saint, and you know you're in for another engrossing visit to Mitford—the little town that readers everywhere love to call home.©1996 Jan Karon; (P)1996 Recorded Books, LLC All rights reserved

LOVE the narrator!!!

This series delights me continually. It's like I know the characters. What a gifted writer Jan Karon is. I will move into the next one, but am so very disappointed John McDonough isn't narrating and that it's an abridged recording. If the narrator is available, I think having him narrate every story about Father Tim would delight listeners.

I LOVE the Mitford Series!

I LOVE the Mitford Series! I often listen and read these books and over again. it is so much like going home. in fact my personal tradition is listening to Shepherds Abiding between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. I just may be able to recite the whole thing by now!! lol

Peaceful, uplifting, full of faith and humor.

Narrator is one of my favorite readers of the many books I have listened to.

Sadly the recording skips

Love the Story; love the narrator; the quality of the recording misses the mark. Several instances of scratchy and skipping recording.

Always Loved This Series

I've actually read all these books about 10 years ago, but was ready for wholesome reading again. But now, with many eye issues, it's time for audibles. Done so very well!
