It feeds on greens, grains, kitchen waste - almost any food available on the farm, and feels good on pasture.
Another product of domestic duck breeding is feathers. They make soft fluffy pillows and light and warm quilts.
And yet ducks are mainly a meat species of poultry. Their characteristic features are good viability, fertility, high-grade dietary meat and fairly good egg production.
Ducks make great pets, if you know how to care for them properly.
