Publisher's summary

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization, the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth, the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

Excellent Book!

This one falls into the "couldn't put it down" category. Immensely informative, energetic, with non-stop action. I was exhausted by the time I finished. I felt it far surpassed the DaVinci Code!

Best of Dan Brown

Would you listen to Angels and Demons again? Why?

Yes and I have listened to it multiple time since the first time.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot will keep you interested until the end because of all the mystery surrounding each characters background and motives. Science and religion, forever apart or could they come together to prove the same thing.........

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish I could have but wasn't. I could see it as a book that could hold you for the whole time.

Awesome as one would expect

Simply an awesome story by Dan Brown, probably his best in my opinion...Also well read by Richard Poe, with all it takes to keep you captivated...I certainely recommend this AudioBook. I did have some problems with bookmarking when shutting off...not sure if it was me, the shuffle, the way it was recorded or what !

Recipe

Don't read Da Vinci Code and this book too close together....take a break. The 'recipe' is a little too much. Put in an old man, murdered, naked and disfigured with a cryptic symbol. Add a technically trained and beautiful daughter/grandaughter. Carefully turn a really good guy into a bad guy and bad guy into a good guy. Sprinkle in a devious secret society flavored with puzzling icons. It was truly deja vu all over again. Because of this my mind raced ahead of the story....I imagined another secret society, the Illiteratti, who never got their icons right and misspelled some of the ancient words. I became sensitive to unintentional humor, for example the way the words "Dad dead" collide. A character has a line saying that it wouldn't be a good idea for the girl to see her grandfather's body (his head is on backwards, he is naked and his flesh has been horribly branded) Duhhhh! All this aside, I enjoy this author's work and will continue to follow him. However, I will be sure to experience other cuisine between the dishes he serves up.

AMAZING!!

This was the most amazing book I have listened to thus far.

Dan Brown does so much research and describes what you are listening to in such detail that you know when you see it you will recognise it.

The story line was WOW! and then just as you think you know it all he hits you with a curve ball that knocks you right off course.

The characters are "real" the plot is plausible and the story line fantastic -

No better word than Amazing!

Thank you Dan Brown. This is a have to read book!

Awesome!

I loved, loved, LOVED this book. I was totally hooked into the plot and couldn't stop listen. The twists at the end kept you wondering and I have to say the narators voice for this was perfect, just enough mystery and suspense. Now I can't wait to see the movie although I know it will never be as good as the book.

This book is like good butter. Smooth and rich.

Think of it as a really well paced suspence actine movie starting Harrison Ford. Yeah it's that good. I found this book to be an incredible listen. If you are looking for a great lead in to the main character of the DaVinci code then here it is. I personally think this was a better story then DaVinci code, but I really liked them both. Get them both get them unabridged and sit back and enjoy.

Take a close look at what you THINK you know.

If you could sum up Angels and Demons in three words, what would they be?

Power, intrigue and sadism.

What other book might you compare Angels and Demons to and why?

Martin's 'A Clash of Kings'...power, intrigue, sadism...not the way you'd expect.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Robert Langdon survives jumping from a helicopter without a parachute...oh boy!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Defenitely!

Any additional comments?

This book shows how little we actually know of what we THINK we know.

Comparable to DaVinci Code

I enjoyed this as much as DaVinci Code, and I really enjoyed the narration. Worth a download if you have some time to listen.
