Publisher's summary

Saving the dead isn’t as simple as promised. It was supposed to be a standard routine...that is, until we discovered that I was the first Soldier of Light to receive visions of the souls’ worst sins. The very sins that put them in the Dark Realm with the devil. Sins that are unforgivable.

Hayden, my sexy guardian angel, tells me there are consequences if I don’t save these lost souls. But how do I save souls that have committed such despicable acts, especially when I have to live through their death in order for them to move on?

To make matters even more complicated, the devil believes he sees a darkness in me that matches his own. And to tell you the truth, I fear he may be right. Because, each soul I must save makes me despise the world I’m forced to live in even more.

The one silver lining keeping me grounded is Hayden, until I come face-to-face with a secret he’s kept from me since the beginning.

be careful of who trust

I love this book as much as I liked book one. It was fun to see how Evika grows from each book with her confidence. The relationship between Evika and Hayden if fun to watch as it grows. This was a great second book and I can't wait to see what happens next. Ireland is a great storyteller and Sarah did a great job bringing it to life

Just Wonderful!

Absolute Zero by Ireland Gill and narrated by Sarah Stevens is the second book in The Soldiers of Light Chronicles. Evika finally gets to work with her guardian angel, Hayden. She learns what her gift is, and how to control it. She gets to meet other angels and starts her work to save the souls being kept away from salvation. We are left with one crazy cliffhanger ending.
Would I listen to this book again? Yes
Would I recommend this book to others? Yes
Even though it's a different narrator from the first book, a great job was done by Ms. Stevens bringing the story to life. This is another great story by Ireland Gill.

Entertaining Page Turner

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is book two of the Negative Zero series. It is not a standalone and ends on a cliffhanger.

I consider this book to be the building blocks for all that is going to happen in book 3 of this series. The story moves slowly in developing the relationship between Evika and Hayden, as well as, exploring Evika's family/past. While some reviewers did not like the leisurely pace, I really enjoyed spending the time to get to know Evika more. She is having some interesting dreams/visitors, which are only lightly touched upon but that I believe she will likely have to contend with in the next book. I really enjoy how this story is told from the first person POV of Evika - who is still trying to come into her own while having to deal with some very overwhelming issues. I am completely fascinated with Alysto and the role he will play as the story evolves.

The narrator, Sarah Stevens, is very easy to listen to - she provides voices for the various characters and really pulls you into the story with her narration.

Good!

Picking up where we left off this book like the first doesn't disappoint. The characters grew throughout this book. I have to say I love Luca, he's one of my favorites. This is such a unique story and has kept me intrigued from the start. The narrator does an amazing job! Good series!

WHAT!!!!!

Okay Negative Zero was enjoying but absolute zero was even better. Evika and Hayden are awesome characters that continue to develop there story. A very enjoyable story with lost of twists and turns, Absolutely gripping and lives up to its expectations. Just when I thought the story hit its peak out of nowhere she gives us a unexpected twist. I cant wait for the 3rd book to come out.

OMG Great Audible 2nd book in Series!!

What a great 2nd in Series, both Interesting and at time Sad. The main character is learning to deal with her roll in life with the aid of her guardian angel, Hayden. Hayden is a amusing with a Very large ego, but not really in a bad way. Narrator did a nice job on both the voices of all the characters and the Storyline. Can not wait for the next book because this one sort of ended with a cliffhanger type ending.

Good Story

Absolute Zero by Ireland Gill is the second release in this series.
I really like the story concept and enjoyed the first release. I was looking forward to the second but the audio recording just ruined it for me.It was recorded so poorly that I had to force myself to keep listening. It's very tinny sounding, randomly becomes muffled, the volume keeps changing and edit cut ins are very obvious and do not match at all

A Good Follow Up

Absolute Zero is a fun tale but falls into some of the same pitfalls as other middle books in series.
The book starts off so slowly. The author has to bridge the gap between the ends of the last book and get us to the point where the action happens. It spends too much time on the character’s adjustment to her situation. That being said, it's also realistic. Most books would just skip the mundane adjustments that would have to be made. So I give her points for not being afraid to show that.
But once we get to the antagonist, the book really gets going and the reader is totally pulled in. Evika story is so much bigger than she or the reader thought and I can't wait to see where that goes.
This does end in a cliff hanger pushing towards the next installment. I'm not huge on books that do that but it's typical of a transitional book. And to be honest, I wanted to know what happened next before that.
The narrator does change between takes one and the first. At first, the change in narrator was a bit off-putting. There is nothing wrong with Sarah Stevens; I just had to adjust. She did well giving the proper emotions and bringing each character to life.
Overall, I enjoyed the second book in this series.

Absolute Zero

This was an amazing second book! This story is a bit slower than the first one and seems to be setting the stage for the third book. I am looking forward to the pay off in the next book since the set up is really good. It is going slow with the relationships too which is working for these characters. I love getting this slower pace to truly get to know these characters and get to see how their relationship will develop. There are some very interesting dreams in this one and I can't wait to listen to the next book. Hopefully the relationship will develop more in the next book and I can't wait to see what comes next with this plot. This is a very good series so far and I am eagerly waiting for the next one!

Excellent second instalment

I received this book free for an honest review.

Evika ups and moves across country to the house she bought Hayden goes with her and life seems better until it doesn’t .
Evika finds out she has another power to manipulate the elements it works off her emotions and she needs to learn to control it. Her nightmares are getting more intense and Luca recommends one of the elders make her a dream catcher although that doesn’t turn out quite how it’s supposed to and the devil still enters her nightmares/dreams.
Things between Evika and Hayden start to heat up life seems to be good for them both that is until there’s a knock at the door and Evika comes face to face with a secret the guardians have been keeping from her.
Loved this second book and the new narrator was perfect I enjoyed her better than the first.

Great Listen

I really enjoyed the first book and I enjoyed this one just as much. The story was engaging, with twists and turns that kept me wanting the next chapter (even well after I knew I should have gone to sleep).
It's a great series so far, with a great storyline, even better characters. I would definitely recommend listening to this as not only the story but the narration was great too.

Better than the first installment

It's rare when I enjoy the second book in a series as much as the first and I found I enjoyed this book even more! The story sucked me back in immediately even though I had read and listened to a few books after Negative Zero.

We learn more about Evika and I thoroughly enjoyed the slow burn between her and Hayden. And just when you think you've got it figured out, plot twist!

There was a narrator change and it takes some time in the beginning before she finds her groove and becomes less robotic. Once that happened, I enjoyed listening to her more than the other narrator.

Another fabulous book/audio book!

Evika and Hayden teased with their slow burn ...

I really love the voice of the narrator, and the mixture of the duo's dynamics woven into the progress that Evika is making - without forgetting this is a young woman, adapting to a hidden world with a serious moral dilemma when it comes to freeing those repentant souls.
