Plagued by fear. Haunted by the sins of her past.

Approaching twenty-five, Katrin Drakos should only be concerned with two things—being crowned Queen of Alentus and marrying her Fated, Kohl.

For five years, she focused on falling in love, on living, on becoming whole again. For five years, she was able to forget what the vile King Nikolaos of Nexos had done to her. For five years, her nightmares did not return.

But then the whispers started. A rumbling of rebellion poised to strike. The King of Nexos had never attacked before. Until now. Until right before the Acknowledgement.

So when a notorious pirate captures her, claiming to have saved her from the lies the leaders have woven into history, Katrin must decide if the enemy from her past has really been her ally this whole time. Decide before the world around her crumbles and not only her power, but the power of all the gods, is lost forever.

Because sometimes, the Fates have other plans.

interesting mix of pirates, magic, and a twist on Greek gods. There were too many holes in the story and not enough character development. Why was the male narrator wasted on the bad guy?

I absolutely loved this story, world building, the slow burn. Overall the narrators did a good job but I was disappointed that Anthony Palmini only narrated the 2 short bonus chapters.

I didn't read a single word of the blurb or any of the reviews. All I did was hit play. I am extremely happy that I did. thank you for putting this on plus catalog or else I probably would have never discovered the series when I did. I only had one slight annoyance with one of the male narrators and how fast he read during non conversation parts but his voice(s) were still good so it was okay.

I had no real plans to fall in love with this but here we are lol

Love the world building in this and the Odysseus inspired land. It pulled me right in and I found the characters interesting and developed. The plot has delightfully infuriating twists and I really wish the rest of the series was recorded.

My only story complaint is that that the FMC basically throws a tantrum because of a miscommunication trope in order to drive the story forward. It felt a bit over the top after she invested time in gradual character growth. I just had a hard time believing she’d react this poorly at this point in the story.

Narrators did great. The only exception was that Kohl’s narrator read all the exposition like a robot for some reason. No emphasis unless in was dialogue. It was diffuse to listen to those chapters.

Great story and characters
