Publisher's Summary

Adopted at 13, Dell Jordan was loved, mentored, and encouraged to pursue her passion for music. Now, at 20, after a year abroad with a traveling symphony, a scholarship to Julliard is within reach. But underneath Dell's smoothly polished surface lurk mysteries from the past. Why did her mother abandon her? Who was her father? Are there faces somewhere that look like hers - blood relatives she's never met?

Determined to find answers, Dell sets off on a secret journey into Oklahoma's Kiamichi Mountains, drawn by the only remaining link to her origins - a father's Native American name on her birth certificate. In the voices of her Choctaw ancestors, she'll discover the keys to a future unlike anything she could have imagined.

Simple story

I struggled to finish the book, I found it somewhat boring and the accents of the reader annoying. Perhaps for a young adult, it might be more fitting.

Tending Roses Series

I loved every single book in the series. I just checked to see if it continued after A Thousand Voices. Please, can you add to the series? I want to know more about Dell.

Definitely Not Worth a Credit

The most annoying narrator ever. Story was predictable and shallow with little carryover from the characters that have been developed in past books of this series.

Unfinished

Need to finish Dell’s story! She has so many unanswered questions still! Hate when all the loose ends aren’t tied up at the end is a series.

Not as good as When We were Yours, but I enjoyed it. I love historical fiction.

She did it again!

I discovered Lisa Wingate last year and fell in love with her books. This book is wonderful and I love how Lisa wound up the ending and Dell got her heart’s desire to know that her mother did look at her in the same way she looked at Angelo. It’s as if all her questions were answered and the spiritual connection to her heritage resolved.

Figuring out your life and American Indians

I would recommend A Thousand Voices to anyone 16 or older. Especially if your in the midst of trying to figure out what you’re going to do with your life. Also, any person who has an interest in the American Indian tribes. This is a fascinating, interesting book.
