Love this book

Such a beautifully written book. I enjoyed listening to the different points of view regarding the same incidents. This book was spot on in the ways that it showed the daily struggles that black people endure. I love how it ended and the Epilogue was well done.

Gripping

This was an accurate description of race inequality and friendship. Give this one a read you won’t be disappointed.

Good Read

Well written story from different prespectives. A great book to spark open honest discussions about race.

A gift of multi perspectives

I loved this book. It makes you think about friendship, race, love from everyone’s perspective by investing the reader in each of the characters, who are each struggling with multiple points of view. Having visited Birmingham, AL the description of the Monument to Peace and Justice brought right back to that visit. A must read.

Great book, great performance

I love the characters and the lessons taught by both characters. Black Lives Matter. Blue lives matter. Sifting through the emotions on both sides is important, with communication being the most important. It is poignant in today's society.

A good first attempt for this white reader to see what it is to be black.

It made me start to realize how much of my life experiences I take for granted and how much white privilege determines our lives……

Made me fall in love with audiobooks again

The story was brilliantly written and the performance was perfection. I had every single emotion while listening — literally laughed, gasped, cried, gasped, rewound pieces to make sure I heard correctly. I’ve never experienced an audiobook performance like this simply wowed.

I loved this book! It’s been a while since I finished a book in a day, but I couldn’t stop listening. Highly recommend.
