Launching into new territory that the author hadn’t mapped out when he embarked on the series, NEKOMONOGATARI (White) tells the tale of heroine Tsubasa Hanekawa from her own perspective, in her own voice—if that can hold true for a damaged soul who, depending on who you’re asking, suffers from a split personality or a supernatural aberration.

The bone-chilling brokenness of her household, where father and mother and daughter keep three separate sets of cookware in the same kitchen and only ever prepare their own meals, and the profound darkness nurtured in the genius schoolgirl’s heart, come to life, if that is the word, through her self-vivisection.

As for our customary unreliable narrator, Araragi, we seem to learn revealing tidbits about him now that we have an outside view of him at last, while his lady friends Senjogahara, Hachikuji, et al, freed from his predilection for proudly inane banter, show subtly new faces to us via their female interlocutor. Welcome to the Second Season.

Book 7 so odd choice after Kizumonogatari but as a long time fan still enjoyable

Great but strange choice

I love Nisiosin work! His work is incredibly interesting how it uses the tropes and trappings of anime to tell an incredibly introspective story. I highly recieved all works by this author especially if you are a fan (even if ironically)of imported media from Japan. Notice I say imported media as this audiobook is clearly translated as it gets a bit "talky" even on simple things plus the voice actors and actresses clearly have a similar oration of dubbed anime. I enjoy it as I've grown up with such things, however I can understand those who dont have a tolerance for that "style" would genuinely struggle to enjoy this audio book.

Great story, few things though

I will be reviewing the audio version of Nekomonogatari (white). I have personally read every book from this series that has been released up to this point, and decided to give myself a break from reading with listening to the audiobook. This was such a great book on its own and listening to the audio version just impacted the experience that much more for me.
True, this is my first time ever using an audio book. So I cannot compare to others of its kind, but the experience has left me satisfied and wanting more. The audio actors did a great job bringing the characters of the story to life. I was never lost or confused with what was going on or who was who when talking, though I do think some of the character voices could use a bit of work. I think overall they captured who these characters are and their personality.
At the end, I truly am wanting more audiobooks from this series. With each book that I read I am falling more and more in love with this series, but I am incredibly slow when it comes to reading, so having this option is really wonderful for me.

Wishing for more audio books!

An interesting perspective from the mind of Tsubasa Hanekawa. You get to see both a new side to her and to Araragi. It was strange that they didn't adapt Bakemonogatari next, but I just hope they get around to it.

Classic Nisioisin

I love cristina vee and monogatari, so this was pretty much perfect. Make sure you've read the other books before you get this one so it'll make more sense though.

great story and performance
