Overall A Good Continuation

I'll be honest. I'm really not a fan of the world outside of the forest. It just sounds 100% terrible with almost comically evil people everywhere.

I also still don't have a really great picture of the layout of the forest, so a lot of the travel didn't make any sense either. In fact, even the quest that she is about to embark on doesn't make a lot of sense and I think the reasoning for it was just handwaved away. I suppose the author is trying to keep a sense of mystery going, but damn brother, you've got to throw us a bone or we have no investment at all, you know?

Oh yes, and Ayden is a git. I'm glad he is only 50% of a whiney man-baby but really, "clinical depression" and social anxiety? I'm really tired of young characters with mental problems. It's old. Just stop. But hey, at least he has a backbone.

With that said, the bulk of the book still takes place in the forest and is nearly as good as the first book. If you liked the first book, definitely get this one. I'm sure you'll like it. The main character is still awesome and her cat doubly so.

the oddest predijuce against professors

For some reason, the author has a bit of a hate boner for teachers, kinda leaning towards college level teachers? I mean I might be wrong but they've caught strays twice now, and it is kinda strange. I overall like this book series a lot, but it is so damn funny that this feeling comes through.

Solid writing that just keeps getting better.

If you enjoyed the gist book you won’t be disappointed with book 2. It’s much the same. Impossible odds, deadly poison.
Great world building with limited characters to get bogged down with.
Over all a solid pick and I’m eager for the next book.

Great story but preferred WB1

An overall great story, but I wasn't as engaged by the second volume. As Mira becomes overpowered, I find myself less interested, which is a common pattern I finally recognize as my own quirk. The setting is excellent. The botany aspect was my favorite theme in book one. Other words could be used besides a screaming F*** when the situation is dire.

Another great performance from someone quickly become one of my favorite female narrators. Story goes even farther down the monorail of LitRPG/progression fantasy/system conversion stories.

I very much want to hear what happens in the next installment(s). Please keep writing/publishing this series.

it's was just ok

it wasn't terrible or great just ok. it started as a normal magic series then turned into pretty much a cultivation series and I really dont like them so I won't be getting the next books.
