Fighting those lies, and the resultant anxiety, pride, impatience, and other sinful attitudes that trip us up, with what Piper calls "the purifying power of God's truth", blesses us with peace as we see God enabling us to live by faith in his promises and his grace.

Great information
The book is a relief to know our imperfections and struggles are the way we are made. We were made in God's image so the struggle is real. It helped me accept my faults and resize my utter reliance on his free gift of salvation and appreciation for it.
I do not love the narrators voice:(

Great book
Would you consider the audio edition of When I Don't Desire God to be better than the print version?
The audio on for this book is a bit difficult to listen to. I would deffinately suggest the book if you can make time to read it. It all you have is listening time than the audio is worth getting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
This is not a book with characters. This is a training and instructional book
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The information in this book will definitely cause you to grow in your relationship with God and John Pipers view on the Church and fighting for Joy is inspirational. I would highly recommend that you listen and read the book if you are wanting to consider the joy of serving our great God.

Would listen to again
This book is I think best suited to a relatively mature Christian and might be a little deep and intense for a new Christian. The mature Christian who seeks always to go deeper and wider in his faith and joy and who doesn't require a soft peddle will not be disappointed.

I almost quit listening..... PLEASE DONT!
This audiobook has solid teaching but it does require extra effort so you can grasp the theology that's being taught. I almost quit listening because I had to go back and start all over several times. I guess the voice makes it harder to stay focused.... but if you do, I guarantee you won't regret it. I was simply trying to hear this audiobook so I could help others around me and it ended up changing me first and wanting to put into practice these teachings.
