Who is Jesus Christ?

This is an example of John Piper at his best. He helps you look at see Jesus in a way that opens your heart and mind to His love and glory.

Compendium of scripture

What I love about Piper is that he provides a wealth of scripture for every conclusion or statement he makes. This book is a great biblical reference resource for various aspects of Christ’s character and glory. It was also a joy to read and encouraged my worship and greater faith in him.

Great book but narrator makes it unbearable

Due to the sheer volume of scripture references, and also due to the narrator’s complete, stoic disconnect from the material, it’s like Charlie Brown’s teacher every time he cites a scripture. “[book], (pause),chapter [x], (pause), verse [y]” - do you really have to repeat “chapter” and “verse” so slowly EVERY citation?!?! That makes it SO difficult to not get constantly distracted. But the book is great. I’d recommend not the Audible version. Please don’t fire the guy just make him read books he seems to care about.

How simple these complex ideas were laid out

I felt like this book was very straight to the point and easily understandable as well as applicable.

Book Excellent; Narrator Eh...

Love this book... but the narrator changes A LOT of words (I follow along in a physical book while I listen to audiobooks). This is a problem with many of the books this narrator has done. He has a nice voice, but he either needs to pay better attention to what he's reading or, perhaps, STOP thinking that he knows what the book "should have said" (especially when it comes to the caliber of the authors whose works he reads). The people who only listen to these audios won't realize that Piper actually didn't write what they're hearing in many places.
