He holds degrees from Wheaton College, Fuller SEMInary, and the University of Munich (Dr. theol.). A respected theologian and author, Dr. Piper has authored many books including the best seller, Desiring God. He and his wife Noël have four sons and one daughter.

I have read and reread the book, The Pleasures of God, the audio version brings the message into focus in new and insightful ways.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Pleasures of God?

The fact that this author identifies and clarifies the Volcanic and Exuberant Happiness of God in being God.

Which scene was your favorite?

The beginning chapters where Mr Piper illuminates who Christ is and the essence of his being begotten.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It elicits joy in this reader and wonderment in the happiness that I previously did not understand.

Pleasures of God. Audio booksis a great tool to use duringa comute, or road adventure.

The truth of God

Amazing book about the truth of God's word and pleasures. I enjoyed this much more than I first thought I would. Builds slow, but very worth it !

Another great book by John Piper fuuull of insights and new perspectives! One that could be useful to have in print to refer back to since he talks about so much that needs to be digested.

Must read

This is an amazing book that truly magnifies God above all else. The glory of God is on full display through Piper's wonderful imagery and narrative, and is then applied to our own lives. A must read.

the narrator negatively

the narrator. it takes away the messages of this book by Piper. I will not be purchasing any more of Piper's books with the same narrator

This book is a treasure that ponders one of the great questions in the world, what does God take pleasure in?

Too complex

I wanted to like this book, but I'm just not smart enough to understand it all. Disappointing.
