Fast read but very rich of wisdom and God's glory

Reading is a little fast, but woth some rewinds I was good. Amazing book. 100% recommend for people wanting to cultivate a hunger for God and His glory with excellent insight on fasting.

Thought-provoking study of fasting it's history and purposes biblically an application today this format on audible was awesome because I couldn't listen anytime cooking exercising walking driving I love it

Best Book on Fasting and Prayer

This is the best book on fasting and one of the best books on prayer that I have ever read. I highly recommend this book. Piper does a fantastic job showing, from the Scriptures, how humans are called to use everything at their disposal to hunger after God. Fasting is not deprivation, but is instead one of the greatest means God uses to fill us with himself.

John Piper calls us to seek the Master and not what is on the Master’s table (seek the giver and not the gift).

Understand True Fasting in God

This book isn’t interested in showing you the current common uses of fasting. Instead it contrasts it with biblical methods of fasting, how Jesus tell his disciples how to fast, how it differs from the religious leaders of the day & how it differs from how His people tended to fast in ancient times.

So if you are interested in how fasting can help you get closer to God because you are hungry for more of Him and to loosen the hold of the world, the flesh, and the devil, than this book is for you!

Excellent book on the correct perspective of fasting and how it fits into the Christian life. Permeated with the author's fervency to glorify and serve God, and exhorts the reader to do the same.
