A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

When a tragedy occurs and an Imperial retribution force is shattered, two young Imperial Knight pilots must work together and learn the ways of war if they – and the world of Donatos – are to survive.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's war on a larger scale – Imperial Knight scale! Two novice Knight pilots against an entire world of enemies – a story for the ages.

THE STORY

The Knight Houses of Adrastapol are both noble and righteous, and when the Imperial world of Donatos falls to the heresy of the Word Bearers, they are foremost in the vanguard to retake it. Led by High King Tolwyn Draconis, the Knights are peerless in battle and strike deep into the enemy's ranks. But the war soon turns when a tragedy strikes, casting the Imperial campaign into anarchy. As desperation grows, unblooded Knights Errant Danial and Luk must quickly learn the ways of war to prevent an unholy ritual, or Donatos will be lost and all the noble Houses of Adrastapol with it.

I definitely liked this book. I liked the portrayal of the knights and Chris Tester's narration. Hope to hear more from him.

A good story

Outstanding book, I came in with no expectations and Andy Clark blew me out of the water! Christopher Tester did an excellent job as the narrator, and if you want what may be the best Imperial Knight focused book out there since Assassinorum: Kingmaker, look no further than this book. I'll definitely be rereading this, as it was entertaining enough for me to listen all the way through in a single day - I'm looking forward to reading through the sequel Knightsblade next, as well as looking into other 40k books written by Andy Clark!

For the Emperor, and Adrastapol!!

Fantastic Story with believable plot twist, and great pacing, would recommend to any knight fans

fantastic story and the only 40k knight book

Tester has earned his spot as a regular voice on GW audiobooks. He makes each character feel interesting and distinct, even the female ones, which a lot of the current roster have a hard time with.

The plot is not overly complex or unpredictable, but it is satisfying. You go in expecting some knight action, and that’s what you get. A meat and 2 veg kind of affair, which I can’t complain about. For once the most interesting characters are the main ones, regular humans being a bit more 3 dimensional than the flat and uncomplicated space marines. The ones that do appear are by far the least compelling.

Plot pacing is even, tempo is steady. Dialogue is passable, but nobody is having any really deep thoughts or philosophy. Action scenes are quite well done. The setup for the next book is really intriguing. For the Drakon!

Exquisite

Story: Positive
Characters: Positive
Ending: Positive

I will definitely read the sequel, my only gripe is that the Word Bearers could have been used more.

Can't beat a good Knight story
