Resumen del Editor

Who would ruin a good party by stabbing a lawyer in the back?

Jim Walker is a lawyer – one of the best – and he's the type who doesn’t need to practice much law to make a client’s problems disappear. He's a fixer who enjoys the finer things in life, until someone fixes him for good at a posh party in one of Atlanta’s swankiest mansions.

With his newly-formed murder squad now up and running, Chance Meridian quickly learns that Jim Walker knew too many secrets about too many people. People with everything to lose should the truth get out. And while all the guests at the party proclaim their innocence, that math doesn’t add up. Faced with a murderer who may have orchestrated the perfect crime, Chance must outwit the killer before the clock strikes 12 on another victim.

A standalone thriller in the best-selling Atlanta Murder Squad series, To Kill A Lawyer is a diabolical mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Easy read and kept me intrigued

I’m liking this series. Some reviewers are upset that the narrator or was changed however this narrator or sounds younger and not like a smoker. It was a quick read and I’m ready to venture to the fourth installment

Performance was good. No heavy breathing.

Storyline was good and kept the mystery of the book and plot

I loved this one

This had a good puzzle with lots of twists and turns and without the graphic blood and torture that I usually have to endure to get to the story. I also appreciated the value system of the main character.

Too much like a game of CLUE

I loved the first two books of this series but this one…. Well, it was too much like a bad game of CLUE! I didn’t enjoy it and feel like I wasted a credit and my time!

Not nearly as compelling as the first 2

I absolutely hated the narration !! It changed my impression of Chance totally from book 1. I’ll be checking the narrator on any of this series in the future!

Why change a great thing?

Really enjoyed the first two books and the narrator, Christopher Lane. As a REAL Atlantan, his portrayal of a lawyer with a past and that may or may not have caused the dramatic tragedy in his life, was spot on. Edgy, dark, and of course kept you coming back for more. In this third book, they changed the narrator and thus the “feel” of our anti-hero, Chance Meridian, into a stereotypical portrayal of sickly southern hospitality. They also changed the direction of his gumshoe side kick, Detective Scott, into almost a caricature of what a detective should be with silly quips and overinflated since of power.

Note to author, please go back to the edgy story you set up in book one. Start delving into his past. String me along with hints of why his wife and son were killed and how he could have been the cause. Bring me to a climax so out of the blue that I can’t help but sing your praises as the creative genius. Right now, it seems you are yielding to advice from a literary agent on how to appeal to the masses.

Too Many Inconsistencies

Why has "Scott" gone from an athletic deep voiced best friend to Barney Fife? And the disappointments mount.

Narrator Is Correct

Many of the reviews talk about poor or incorrect narrator but this is not true. The original narrator was the incorrect one. He made you feel a little confused. His voice was sincere and heart felt but was saying the words of a cynical, narcissistic, sarcastic pseudo religious alt right male of the south. His voice made you want to give a wink and a nod to the character because you want to believe he wants to be different ( his best friend is a black male who prefers blondes and in the 1 st 2 books he talks of his love for Ella ( black female attorney). The narrator in this book will upset you because he lets you hear this guy is what you feared he was. There are no mitigating circumstances that makes you see any differently. He loves his wife and son who were murdered but before and after he is in love with Ella. He makes himself believe he does not approach a relationship with her because of the guilt of his family ‘s murder but ends up sleeping with a crazy woman who uses him(1st book) and suddenly marries a woman he says he loves but he does not. The relationship sounds flat and transactional. So the series is good. The stories well written but don’t really expect to find the character of the protagonist to be truly likeable because he nor the author truly knows him.

Not the best

...too many characters, it was like the game of Clue on steroid. plus the story line was boring. I struggled to finish I wanted to throw in the towel on several occasions.
