In New Orleans, I'm known as the fun and laid-back LeBlanc brother. The Rebel CEO.

I’m successful and determined, but I don't play by the rules. Heck, I don't even have rules except one. I never ever get involved with my assistants. After a very bad experience years ago, I know better than to mix business and pleasure.

I've had no problems sticking to my rule until I hired Daisy.

When I first meet her, I have no idea she’s my new temp assistant. I just set eyes on this gorgeous woman at my favorite coffee shop and do what I do best: flirt with her like there's no tomorrow. When I realize my mistake, I change the tune. I'm cold and distant but my plan is not working. Not one bit.

Whenever she steps into my office, all I think about is bending her over my desk. When she gives me sass, all I want is to cover her mouth with mine until she begs for more. Daisy is fun and unlike anyone I've met, and I gravitate toward her whether I want it or not.

When she suddenly gets a call from home that her family needs help, I immediately take over. All lines blur, but one thing I know for sure, I won't let Daisy go. I just have to convince her that I'm the one.

And I'm very convincing when I want to be.

Layla Hagen pens another fabulous novel, a heartwarming workplace romance, and no matter what she writes, it always feels like you are coming home. It is all so wonderful, the characters, the family dynamics, the camaraderie amongst siblings, and the respect for their parents and grandparents and yes it all warms your heart. Each book in the series features a different LeBlanc brother, and their stories stand on their own, this fifth book is Anthony and Daisy’s story. Anthony may be a nice guy, but he is difficult to work for, never having a personal assistant for long, and his reputation to work for makes it difficult to fill the position. Daisy, originally from North Dakota, went to school in New Orleans and, with a job lined up and a new apartment, is staying there. Except she gets a call that the job is no longer available because of a hiring freeze, desperate for any job, she takes a job as a personal assistant to a CEO. Neither knowing who the other is, Anthony and Daisy meet before going into the office and plan to see each other again, not expecting it to be so soon. Anthony has rules for and with his personal assistants, but with Daisy he is finding it difficult to follow those rules. There are so many things to love about this multi-layered story, starting with the writing, plot and world building, which are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The story is low in angst and has the perfect balance of drama, witty dialogue, charming and heartwarming moments, and a beautiful and swoon-worthy romance. Shout out to the amazing side and secondary characters too, including the meddling grandmothers, and adorable niece, all scene stealers. Layla Hagen, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Robert Hatchet and Megan Wicks are a fantastic pairing, and they did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, grasping every aspect of their personalities, and were just as amazing performing the roles of the side and secondary characters too, regardless of their age. They set the ideal tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue effortlessly and conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance, have you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance rivets you to the story.
