The Pixie

AMAZING

I loved the first book in this series but this one was even better! Book 3 in on standby. Can't wait to start it!

Unlikely hero, but it works

The authors accomplish quite a feat—turning one of the reviled characters of their previous book into the hero of the next while making his evolution into a person worthy of his heroine believable. I much preferred Lucy & Sean’s story in this book to Annie & Ronan’s in The Hooker and the Hermit. Where Ronan came off as an alpha jerk who deliberately intimidated Annie (and still seems like a judgmental rage-aholic in this book), Sean put up the facade of being heartless to mask his deep-rooted insecurities. Annie was unrealistic in the first book—too beautiful, too intelligent, and too successful at a young age despite her hermit ways. I found Lucy to be a far more relatable character whose trajectory in life made sense based on her upbringing. I can definitely imagine revisiting Lucy & Sean’s story at some point.

After reading the first book in this series and enjoying it, but not loving it, I was slow to continue on. I could kick myself. I loved this book, the characters, and unique story line. Half the time, I couldn't decide between listening to the audio or reading the ebook. The audio was so well done. This duo of authors are exceptional at combining smart and subtle humor with vulnerable characterization of their MC's. Sean, who is wretched in the first Rugby book, is realistically redeemed in this one without making him too perfect of a hero. The characters may not have been perfect, but this story was perfect in its unpredictability, unique story line, adorable romance, and wit.

A favorite 🍀🍀🍀well, written. Loved the accents. Liked the honesty without too much angst between lovers 🌈🌈🌈

another great story

Sean and Lucy are totally office but you know what they say about opposite they can't help it but to magnifying each other. not saying you have to read the first book but it gives you an idea where the characters are at. these books are not Cliffhangers there their own characters which you enjoy two people trying to find themselves find each other. I really like the narrator's I thought they did a great job I enjoy this author I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read the next one. lol listen

One of the sexiest male voices ever

I absolutely loved this romantic comedy. The pair of narrators did a perfect job at their alternating first person chapters. The male narrator's voice with the Irish rugby player's accent was so hot! I really loved both main characters and a couple of the minor characters. This is the best romantic comedy that I have ever listened to! The love scenes were fantastic as well. I highly recommend this audiobook.

good story but ...

I really enjoyed the story line but had to force myself to continue listening the narrator for Sean was TERRIBLE!! the nasal over dramatics was very hard to get past. the female narrator was great.

Sean is my Cassanova!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. The story is amazing, super original, sexy and fun, and it has its perfect amount of drama that made the story all much better, and the audiobook made it so real because the accents of the narrations were amazing, especially George Allan's, who made a flawless performance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Player and the Pixie?

There are so many great moments in this book that I'll forever remember but if I tell them, they'd be spoilers. But I can say that I loved every moment Lucy and Sean opened their hearts. Those moments were when they were truly connected. <3

What does George Allan and KC Sheridan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I didn't read the book before listening to the audio, so my audiobook experience was my book experience too. I loved George Allan's narration. He was Sean through and through. His voice was Sean's voice. His accent was Sean's accent. The emotions he transmitted were Sean's emotions. George was flawless as the male narrator. On the other hand, KC Sheridan was an okay narrator. Most of the time I felt like her voice was so robotic, she had a singsong kinda voice. I only felt emotions in her performance when she was on dialogues, but Lucy's thoughts were a little hard for me to connect. Don't get me wrong, she did good, but in comparison with George's perfect performance, KC's was plane and didn't reach my expectations.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laugh out loud a lot while listening to this audiobook, but I think my heart ached more than I expected it to before I started this book. I laughed sooooo much with the The Hooker and The Hermit and The Cad and The Co-Ed, so I was expecting to do so in this book, but for me it had the perfect amount of funny moments and heart touching moments.

Any additional comments?

I'm getting more and more obsessed with the books of these two authors together. I love the development of the characters, the originality of the stories and that despite this is "sports-romance", it doesn't feel the "usual kind of sports-romance.

Good, not my favorite L.H. Cosway story and production issue

I really like this series but I did find the affected male accent annoying at times. Biggest thing I noticed was that there was a big chunk of the book that was repeated in the book. Halfway through chapter 8 repeats at the beginning of chapter 9. I even backed it up to make sure I didn’t imagine it or accidentally push a button. Starts with the shoehorn tweet.

Great Read

I enjoyed the story and the characters. Highly recommend to Penny Reid fans. will not disappoint!
