Great Storyline As Usual!

Love that there is still that lovely tension between Strike and Robin! Great observation of the real damage internet nastiness can create in real life. The internet chat dialogue is a little tricky in an audiobook.

Brilliant exposure of the social media communities

The storyline flows between the social media genres and exposes the hidden virtual communities where the crimes are designed in forums and chat sites. Galbraith serial murder revolves around several other cases and the female relationships Cormoran must resolve. Robin’s character has also developed. I am ready for the next Strike installment.

Another Amazing Book by JKR

I was so sad when this book ended, because I know that I will have to wait another two years until the next installment.

Other reviews mention that the book is long- yes, it is long, but all of JKR’s books take the reader through a detailed, in-depth, journey into the characters’ worlds. And, that’s why the books are so entertaining and why the listeners get so invested in the characters.

In reference to the chats and texts- this is our world. This is the most contemporary of all of the Strike books so far in that it included a very real part of our culture. The narrator is amazing, and keeps all of the dialogue engaging.

This book was a pleasure to listen to, the narrator is amazing, and I hope that JKR is working on the 7th book.

Ah-mazing!

So, so good!! The writing, the narrating - superb!! I loved it and couldn't put it down. Regarding the narration, it's true that the online chat is hard to follow at first, but it gets easier as the story progresses because it is (mostly) the same few characters doing the chatting. Robert Glenister is simply extraordinary in his ability to bring so much personality to each character (and there's quite a few) and make them easily distinguishable. As Strike would say, "Well done."

always worth the listen

As usual I ate this up like my favorite candy. I thought the plot was great and I was really pulled in and enthralled in the story. Never better!

Another Strike success!

I adore this series—the characters are so vivid and just spending time in their company is a treat. As many reviewers have noted, much of this novel includes transcripts of tweets and web-based chats. I can say that, at first, I found this format challenging in an audiobook, however over a few chapters it began to feel flawless. Thanks to Glenister’s (as ever) nuanced and evocative performance, I honestly feel that I absorbed this material far better in audio form than I might have with a hard copy. As I always do with a Strike book, I’ve begun my second listen immediately after finishing my first!

Gripping, Edge-of-Your-Seat Read

Robert Galbraith continues to deliver in this epic continuation of the Strike and Ellacott Detective Agency. Our two favorite characters continue to dance around larger feelings for one another while simultaneously tracking down relentlessly frightening foes. A carefully woven story, it delivers at every point from start to finish.

While the chats can be hard to follow, they bring a critical psychologically thrilling element that would have been lost if presented any other way. If you can be patient, it becomes easier to follow and builds enormous, thematically beautiful tension throughout the read.

loved it, for myself it was worth the wait. Per other listeners reviews they have issues with the narrator reading the chats, however; it sets the stage of twists and turns, so give it a chance - l cant wait to see where Stike and Robin end up next!

Best one yet!

Can't wait to reread. It's one of those books where you just have to go along for the ride. Trying to solve anything will just frustrate you. Absolutely loved it.
