Solid Performances for a Easy Read

This is a quick, engaging read with solid pacing, a likable couple, and a few twists that were better than I expected for a lighter romance. Nothing here is trying to reinvent the genre, but it is thoughtfully done, and the emotional beats landed deeper than I anticipated.

That said, the audiobook absolutely carries this experience.

I’ll be honest: I’m not sure I would’ve finished this without Joe Arden and Lee Daniels. Joe Arden is top-tier for a reason—his performance elevates the MMC, adds emotional texture, and pulls you fully into the romance. Pairing him with Lee Daniels was a perfect balance; she grounds the story, brings warmth and nuance, and matches his energy effortlessly. Together, they made the couple feel more alive and emotionally connected.

The story itself is well executed, with twists that keep things interesting without turning heavy or melodramatic. The chemistry between the leads—especially as delivered through the audio—was what kept me engaged from start to finish.

Overall, Catch is an excellent audiobook pick: easy to listen to, emotionally satisfying, and ideal for when you want something enjoyable without being wrecked.

Joe & Lee together = ♥️

This is a sweet romance. The twist shocked me a little, I thought I had it down and normally I do lol. I did get a little aggravated at Rochelle’s lack of confidence and constantly pushing Hunter away but that’s who she is. It’s a good storyline.

Narrators: I will listened to anything by Joe and I love Lee as well. I’d rather have Joe unhinged but that’s not this story 😂
I’m also pretending it’s the HEA I needed from Under Your Scars….and will continue with that since Joe & Lee were together again on this one!

such a beautiful performance

I hit play on Catch for the narrators. Full stop. Joe Arden is a guaranteed yes for me, and this was my first listen for Lee Daniels. They both delivered such a real, emotional performance that I forgot I was listening to an audiobook half the time. The chemistry sounds effortless, the vulnerable moments feel raw, and every little shift in tone lands exactly the way it should.

Story-wise, this one got me right in the feelings. He falls hard for the girl from the literal trailer park, and she is carrying so much shame about where she comes from that it’s hard for her to believe she deserves anything good, including him. Watching him refuse to quit on them, even when she’s trying to push him away for his own good, was everything. He doesn’t try to save her like a project. He helps her find herself, and he keeps showing up until she can finally see what he sees.

I loved their journey, the growth, the way the relationship builds, and the plot stayed unpredictable enough to keep me hooked. And that ending. The moment with everyone chanting the nickname was such a swoony, grin like an idiot payoff.

Tropes: he falls first, wrong side of the tracks, class difference, damaged FMC with shame and self worth healing, protective and persistent MMC, push and pull romance, sports romance, baseball, new adult college setting, high heat, twisty unpredictable plot, swoony ending payoff.

Amazing sports romance love story

I love a good sports romance and this one is fantastic. It’s not a slow burn and I love that. Insta love between a rich MMC and a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is taking care of her sick mom. There are twists and turns that I did not see coming and I loved every single second of this book. Narrators are fantastic.

Evelyn Montgomery wrote a beautiful story of finding love and overcoming lifestyle obstacles to find true happiness. The narration was perfect!
