Acerca de esta escucha

I’m the city’s cruelest billionaire. And I’m the only one who can save her.

In a life like mine, there is only danger dressed up in money and power. I’m a monster in expensive suits and an opulent home. Brigit is an innocent angel with only the clothes on her back.

She’s on the run from a nightmarish arranged marriage, and I’m her only hope in the city. If she works my business, she’ll be able to buy herself a new life.

But the moment she steps into my life is the moment she’s trapped forever.

She thinks she can tempt me and slip away like a thief in the night. She thinks I can make her mine and then let her go.

She’s never been so wrong.

Richer Than God is an intense, dark, billionaire romance. It is the first in a breathtaking new trilogy by USA Today bestselling author Amelia Wilde.

The female narrator wasn’t the best in my opinion for this specific situation, but the tone was pictured differently in my head. Story was good if you are interested in retelling of Greece mythology.

Overall good story

The storyline is interesting, but rushed and not entirely believable.. greek mythology and all. Narration is just okay.

Zeus...

This is an extremely crude representation of dubious-con. I can’t even call it consensual non-con. This is the first part of a story set in a whore house (their word). The word whore is so overused in this story even I feel dirty for listening! I just can’t even empathize with either character. The dialogue is so cringy it’s hard to listen to. The MMC is all over the place with his inner voice - I can’t call his internal dialogue feelings…it’s too much). The FMC has come to this place (Olympus, run by Zeus who is the MMC and owns the place) to escape her father’s marriage contract between his daughter and the uncle. So she decides to go work at a brothel (her word)?? Okaaay…then the MMC is a jerk but decides to “train” her (break her in bc she was a virgin) and auction her off.

Sigh, no kink shaming here, but this just isn’t a well done book or storyline. What’s worse is that it’s a cliffy. Needless to say I’m not bothering with book 2.

WTH did I just listen to?!?

I get this was supposed to be a play on the Gods, but it just seemed all over the place. I dont think I'll continue the series.
