K. Bromberg

A sexy single dad, nanny, forbidden romance from New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg.

The rock star never planned on fatherhood. The nanny never planned on staying. But sometimes the biggest surprises come wrapped in pink bows and second chances.

Gavin “Rocket” Caldwell, member of the world’s biggest rock band, lives fast—sold-out tours, wild nights, and zero responsibilities. Until a three-year old daughter he never knew about lands on his doorstep, and suddenly, the party’s over.

Willow Adams is hired to help him adjust to being a dad—a steady, grounded nanny with a soft heart and a quiet strength he can’t ignore. She’s nothing like the women he’s used to. And maybe that’s exactly why he can’t stay away.

What starts as a temporary arrangement turns into something deeper, just as a custody battle threatens to take it all away. Rocket never wanted to be a father. But now? He’ll fight like hell—for the adorable little girl who changed everything, and the unexpected woman he never saw coming.

Gavin was not ready to be a father. His childhood was not easy, but he was protective and determined. Willow was so kind, caring and protective. Gavin struggled with what it meant to be a father, but I truly enjoyed seeing his growth and protective come through the longer he spent with Poppy. The chemistry between Gavin and Willow was slow burning, but undeniable and I also loved how she worked with him to open up with both her and Poppy. Their journey was not easy and had me wanting to see how it would all end and I loved it.
Happy listening!

Story wise, if K. Bromberg writes it, I’m gonna eat it up! Gimmie single dad/nanny, even better! Rockstar? Not my usual go to, but I enjoyed it here! I need to read the others in this series, but love a found family vibe, & the whole band gave me that!
Rocket is such a rollercoaster, never seeing himself as a father & not planning on it, until a ONS secret child (Poppy) is entered into his life. He struggles SO MUCH with feeling like he is fit for fatherhood & his childhood trauma, & his journey is a RIDE I tell ya.
Willow is such a sweetheart, I love her & her dedication to Poppy. She loves with her whole heart, & has the patience of a saint, because she definitely needs it with Rocket 🙃
I laughed, I BAWLED, I cheered for these characters, wanted to slap Rocket at times, but loved it all so much! It’s going on my reread/listen list for sure!

I think this series is great for listeners/readers that love rock star romances. Take a drink every time you read the word "sweet" in my review BUT this was the sweetest read. Getting to know Rocket as he learns to be a father - going from uber freaked out to can't imagine his life with his daughter, Poppy, was so touching. This is a little instalusty so just be forewarned if you are a slow burn lover. There is some spice but not a crazy amount. Willow and Rocket are cute together and I loved her being integrated into the wives club of the other Bent members. Also, I was living for all the other band members giving Rocket crap and calling him on his sh*t.
PSA that if you want to have the full experience, I highly recommend reading Sweet Ache, book 6 in the Driven series, as Hawkin from that book is also in Bent and that book is sooooo good.
The narrators, Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James did a great job on this. The only feedback I have is that Shiloh had a lot of mouth noises throughout the book and at times, it did get distracting. Super minor but think it's helpful for the narrator to know. 😁
Thanks to Valentine PR for a copy of this audiobook.

Performance 4⭐
K. Bromberg delivers a heartfelt, character-driven romance in Sweet Distraction. This single-dad/nanny story is more than a trope favorite—it’s a slow-burn emotional journey about second chances, family, and unexpected love.
Gavin “Rocket” Caldwell’s life takes a hard left when a daughter he never knew existed—more or less—lands on his doorstep. Willow Adams becomes the steady hand helping him find his footing. I’m such a sucker for a great found-family story, and Sweet Distraction completely won me over. Between Rocket’s bandmates, Willow’s calm warmth, and little Poppy’s quiet bravery, this story radiates heart. Bromberg’s writing shines in the small moments: laughter breaking tension, love growing through chaos, and a man learning what it means to be needed.
The audiobook narration by Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James captures that balance of rock-star grit and emotional tenderness. Oliver brings Rocket’s turmoil and protectiveness to life, while Shiloh adds empathy and warmth to Willow’s voice. There are a few subtle sound issues in the narration track, but nothing that pulled me out of the story. Together, their performances provide a beautiful enhancement to an emotional and intimate romance.
Sweet Distraction is beautifully written with words that resonate long after the final chapter, and Highpoint and James bring those emotions to life in another medium. Whether you read or listen, this story’s emotional depth shines—but if you love feeling every heartbeat through the performance, the audio adds a special touch.
If you love found-family stories, single-dad redemption arcs, or romances that blend heartache with hope, Sweet Distraction will hit every note. I adored this couple, fell hard for the side characters, and can’t wait to dive into Sweet Regret next.

Rocket and Willow have a really good story. These two could not be more opposite and I loved that. But the way that Willow instantly took to Rocket's daughter was the sweetest thing. I loved the way that Rocket struggled at first but then after it all came to reality he did what he needed to do. The rockstar grew up and stepped up. You have to love that in a character.
I felt like these characters were well written and really enjoyed this book.
I believe this is my first book by both narrators. Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James. I felt both narrators fit the characters in the story and were easy to listen to. I enjoyed both voices and they both did more than read the words on the page. I will be adding to listen to more of their work.
I am so glad we got Rocket's story! It was one I didn't want to miss.

🎧📚🎧Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with their voices and emotions. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Ms. James nailed it as Willow, grasping all aspects of her personality, and was a natural in the role with her empathy truly shining when with Poppy. Highpoint was just as fabulous in Rocket’s role, showcasing the angsty rockstar’s personality perfectly. Both were amazing at performing the roles of the side and secondary characters too. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

Narration Review: Dual
The narration was generally strong. The dual narration style worked well to bring both characters to life. However, I did notice that Shiloh Grey had a few odd background noises or mouth sounds throughout the audiobook, which occasionally pulled me out of the moment. It wasn't constant, but enough to be distracting at times. Still, both narrators did a good job overall with tone, pacing, and emotional delivery.
Thank you Valentine PR for this audiobook!

Watching Rocket fumble through fatherhood, fall for Willow, and fight to earn his daughter’s trust was pure emotion. He’s broken, she’s light, and together they find something that feels like home.
It’s the slow touches, the late-night confessions, the way he looks at her like she’s the first calm he’s ever known.
A story of healing, love, and second chances — and it’s absolutely beautiful. 💔✨

Poppy had a traumatic experience when she lost her mom. Willow was the perfect nanny for Poppy. She made her feel safe and loved so easily. Rocket did not handle it very well in the beginning and very much tried to run. I loved how much Willow supported him too while he was trying to figure things out. She was so patient with him. And when Rocket started bonding with Poppy my heart was absolutely swooning.
Rocket & Willow together was special too. I loved how his priorities changed when he realized there were more important things out there. He loved his girls and made sure they knew it.

This was a dual narration by Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James. Both of these narrators were new to me. They were great together though. Oliver absolutely brought the rockstar vibe to life. Shiloh brought out such gentleness and love and it was literally perfect as Willow. There was some background noise during the FMC's POV, almost like a clock ticking, and I did find that a little distracting but otherwise I enjoyed it.
