wow!!!!

wow wow wow. this had everything you could possibly look and ask for. the characters were top tier. the trauma and recovery. the obsessions. the love. the genuine understanding of boundaries and giving each other space to be themselves. i knew i would love this because kandi steiner wrote it but i was absolutely
blown away.

These Narrators Delivered!!!

I really, really loved this book. Carter is such a sweetheart, and I just absolutely adored him! Carter and Livia's chemistry was off the charts. Their banter was so, so good, and I didn't want to put this book down. Also, bonus points for the audio, I LOVED it! They stepped into their characters so perfectly and I loved the duet style!

This is one of the spicier books I've read in a while, and I appreciated it. I also learned a thing or two (iykyk).

It did take me a while to connect with Livia and really enjoy her character, but toward the last half of the book, I was absolutely on board. Livia and I are very much opposites, so I think that's where the disconnect stemmed from. BUT, Kandi Steiner is just an absolute genius and able to make you fall in love with all her characters.

I highly recommend this series and cannot wait for the last one!

Intriguingly, Interesting and romantic & beautifully written,

I loved the plot: inexperienced Carter rising hockey star ask a good friend (and dominate Livia) to teach him to get and keep a girl. I really loved the voice of Carter - made me swoon. Livia had great range as well. It was well paced and once contract was signed it was game. Lots of emotional context, hot hot hot spice and ultimately a happy happy ending. I need to go back and read the first books in this Kings of The Ice series.

Emotional Sexy Rollercoaster

Kandi Steiner has seriously outdone herself with this book and these characters. I was not prepared for the wild emotional rollercoaster this story was going to take me on. There is so much depth within this book that I can't stop thinking about these characters. I loved the flow of give and take, how they relied on each other to heal without realizing that was happening during their teaching moments. I loved that they both get a moment to be fully honest with their best friends and take off their masks. But more importantly, they were able to share their truths with one another without having to the other trying to fix them or judge them. The vulnerability shared between these two characters felt so real that I got lost in their truths and feelings.

Audrey Obeyn and Aaron Donahue were the perfect narrators for Carter and Livia. They understood the depth of this story and brought it to life with their inflections and narrations. I loved that the production of this story was done in duet style. It made the story more believable and realistic. I was taken so far into the story that I couldn't put my earbuds down. And the moments of intimacy had me blushing in public in the best ways. This is easily the spiciest book that Kandi has written but it was done so well that the spice only adds to the story. The moments of teaching confidence from Livia to Carter was so much more than a moment of spice but a connection of souls between two people who had been circling each other for years. I loved this audiobook, it was fantastic!

Honestly, the emotions evoked int this story was a wide array from loss and hurt to love so great it was blinding. I feel like Kandi brought together a couple that she had been teasing about since we met them back in book 1. And the secrets these two had been keeping from everyone, make them so real and relatable. I loved how they both gave each other the space to be vulnerable and safe. Despite Carter asking Livia to teach him confidence in the bedroom that starts their intimacy, their connection had existed long before he takes the jump. They had been flirty and teasing each other since they first met each other. But the depth of that connection was so much more, and I loved reading about it.
