So much LOVE and Emotion

Loved that Jamie is Whiskey, his physical description. Jamie surely had the slow burn in more ways than one. The finale was definitely worth waiting for. I enjoyed the additional chapters with Jamie’s point of you! The longest read for me, but could not stop listening!!

Kandi, Audrey, and Edward, front and center! I blame you all for the emotional mess I am right now.

“A Whiskey stain was just as permanent as ink and I wonder if I truly washed myself clean” -B Kandi Steiner wrote a beautiful emotional wrecking love story where B and Jamie, just like the quote above, spent their time trying to wash themselves clean of each other, but they couldn’t because they were stained in each other’s hearts from the start. B and Jamie made me want to grab them by the shoulders, shake them while yelling, “What is wrong with you, don’t let them slip away” I love how Kandi drew a parallel between love addiction and Whiskey, and how the chapter tiles were a progression towards that addiction. I read the book previously and was emotionally spent afterwards, but listening to this book come to life is an experience I wasn’t ready for and still haven’t recovered from. Audrey Obeyn’s portrayal of B is simply amazing. Listening to her soothing voice I could feel and hear the joy, the happiness, the love, the heartache and the pain. Audrey’s delivery and comedic timing is immaculate. She truly embodied B. Then enters Edward Black with a growl that vibrates your soul. “Good Girl” His voice is so tantalizingly seductive. Their voices are like a tight warm hug. These two narrators perfectly bring to life this, will they or won’t they survive this intoxicatingly destructive yet addictive thing they call love. This book will have you ugly crying, laughing out loud, throwing stuff, happy and sad, while by the end having you hoping to find yourself your own Whiskey.

So Good!!! I listened to this book on Audible and I do not think that the author, Kandi could not have chosen a better narrator other than the lovely, Audrey Obeyn. Audrey really made the audible book all the more enjoyable to listen too. She really brought the characters to life. Audrey’s narration skills are subperb. This book was definitely a slow burn for me, yet intense. So many times, I even got angry at “B” and Jamie. This book is definitely one to be put onto one’s TBR list. I truly enjoyed their love story and oh, it was quite a story!!!

This book sent me through all the emotions in the best way!
I am so happy how both characters were able to really self reflect at the end (mainly B). The Narration though was TOP TIER! I love when the narrators really act out the emotions and not just read the words. I felt every punch to the gut because of the voice actors! Bravo 👏

Narration is Phenomenal!!

When I say this book took me through EVERY emotion. Between the narration, the characters, the storyline, the structure…Gahhhh. READ THIS BOOK!! But you can’t just read it, you HAVE TO immersive read it bc that hits on a whole different level !!

Angst to end all angst

I did wait to devour this book for the first time on audio. And I was not prepared for the anguish my heart would feel for these two. For the way that their love consumed everything around them. 10/10 recommend if you need to be reminded how to feel again. Or for your heart to beat a little extra hard.

Outstanding!

This was the best book I have EVER read! Loved the ending …. But I am reading on because I just can’t get enough of it and do not want it to end….i cried so hard as I could relate to a ten year wait to be with your one true love. The story is beautiful and I just want to thank you for writing it. For putting so many feelings into it the story … I cannot wait to find more beautiful stories written by you …. This was my first. I am so attached to this book I can’t express it enough.

Beautiful and angsty love story

The narration was perfect, I’ve read this on paper before but listening to it just adds so much more to the experience of this story!
This one has become one of my comfort reads, and it just has all of the emotions that are so raw you just feel transported, like it’s a movie playing out in your mind.
If you’re still doubting giving it a try, don’t think about it more.
