Resumen del Editor

Many mothers only learn they have been living with ADHD after their child begins to have symptoms. Once the parent addresses the diagnosis with the child, the mother will often realize that she has been living with the same exact symptoms for her entire life too. The mother will then be diagnosed with the condition herself. In this audiobook, we are going to take a look at exactly what parenting with ADHD looks like, specifically for moms who have ADHD.

The sections will be broken down as such:

  • The surprising amount of moms who have ADHD
  • What it feels like parenting with ADHD
  • When both mom and child have ADHD
  • Do’s and don’ts of parenting with ADHD
  • Strategies for moms with ADHD
  • Support for moms with ADHD

By the end of the audiobook, you will have a better understanding of what ADHD in adulthood looks like, particularly related to motherhood. You will understand why so many women go undiagnosed until adulthood and the key symptoms to be on the lookout for if you think you yourself or a loved one might have ADHD.

You will also learn what to do when both you and your children have ADHD. There will be an entire section on several different do’s and don’ts of parenting when either the parent or the child has ADHD, as well as an entire section with 25 different strategies for moms who have ADHD. Then, finally, there is a section with several different ways you can support your mom friends who have ADHD.Motherhood is hard enough as it is - but when you add ADHD in the mix, whether you yourself or your child has the condition, it only makes things tougher, on both you and your child. This audiobook is full of little tidbits of wisdom and strategies to help both you and your children live a healthier and happier life.

Have you been struggling with ADHD? Or, has your child been struggling with ADHD? Either way, this is the audiobook for you!

Just what I needed

While I couldn’t relate to the part where she mentions working with your spouse, as a single mother with adhd I truly needed this book. It validated my feelings of insecurity and gave me tools to help get better. I finished it while walking on a treadmill for an hour. My short attention span appreciated that. Beautifully narrated.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I’m a mom of four and went YEARS undiagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed. When I finally saw a Dr and got diagnosed I wanted to do all of the research I could. This book is exactly what I needed to help me as a mom with ADHD.

Waste of a credit

Punishment and time out goes against what we’re learning in OT for my son. Why punish him by taking away what he NEEDS? I’m new to my own ADHD as well but I knew more than is presented in this book already.

Could have Googled

Seems like many of today’s ADHD self-help books are written for capitalist reasons. They mostly contain trite advise that can be easily obtained on the internet. This book literally told me, on a Don’t List, to not get overwhelmed and lash out, with no advice on how to reach that goal. If I were an ADHD mom who did not get overwhelmed, I would not have bought this book. It’s pretty comical actually. In the late 90s/early 2000s there were significantly less ADHD self help books to choose from, yet the quality of those few books were so much better. Now there seems to be an assembly line for profit at our expense. I guess I’ll stick to the classics.

Meh….

Might be good for someone who knows nothing about being a mother with ADHD…. Personally I learned nothing new and prefer a more science-based approach rather than generic, experiential advice.
