There’s a lot of reasons why Make Mine Magic felt like it was created just for me. Magic, for one, is a part of this story, which is my jam. I also love peeking into the glamorous lives of the New York City upper class. Our heroine, much like myself, was a book-loving outsider in this world of upper-class wizards. But what I loved most about this story was Claire’s unflinching strength, independence, and cleverness in the face of a situation that seemed completely out of her depth. It was easy to root for Claire as she navigates the cloudy politics of the wizarding community of NYC with her Texan-style aplomb and her strong moral compass. She even uses her research skills as a librarian to outsmart the bad guys at their own game. How badass is that?! Go Claire! And let’s not forget the romance here. Very Pleasant

Magical new world
This book kept me listening! I loved being on the journey with our heroine as she figured out what she stumbled into and what in the world was happening. This was such a fun imagination on hidden world within our normal one - we don't get too many details on how things work, but it's definitely a fun aspect. Not vulgar or graphic, just a fun, easy read! Highly recommend if you like magical doses in your getaway. Narrator does a great job with the voices.

Magically enjoyable
Took a chance on this included book ... & was very happy with the outcome. I wasn’t ready to commit to something long or something that required me to invest myself in the characters.
This story was light, enjoyable & exciting enough that I looked forward to listening to what would happen next.
I enjoyed both the narrator & the story
Even as a guy .. I’ll look forward to checking out other titles by Ms. Swendson
Having reached the end .. I’d definitely be open to listening to another book with these characters. It’s nice to know that there are still people out there who aren’t about power & money. & writers who value that too.
