A series I want to follow

This was great, definitely a series I want to follow. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

It was alright

It was easy to follow and was interesting but it was missing something not sure what. So although it was good it was missing that something that could have pushed it to great.

Reading vs performance

The narrator reads in a very stilted manner sounding like a college freshman earning a few bucks complete with some mispronunciation. Story is frothy and silly but pretty fun.

Refreshing

I really liked this take on the paranormal world. It was truly an engaging read and while there most definitely was chemistry between the main characters the author didn't take it too far. It was a fun read and can't wait for the next in the series to be made into an audiobook!

Where was the anticipation? The yearning? Where is the romance?

So based on the actual plot arc, this isn’t a romance. The romance part is just a side-piece of the main storyline. The fighting / action scenes involving the duo outnumbered and were more substantial than the ones, and I even think the heroine has more back-and-forth interactions with her male best friend than with her romantic interest. The *point* of this story isn’t the pairing falling in love; it’s the heroine getting to know herself. That can make for a perfectly fine story, but that’s not a romance novel.

Beyond that, this really just felt like a true blood fanfic that wasn’t particularly gripping. I won’t be reading this author again.

Can I say the beginning was good...

Yeah so I liked how the book started although the audio and narrator was a bit lacking but yeah, so i liked where it was heading but then it veered of course for me. I wasn't sure if this was still going to be a PNR or Reverse Harem like a LKH Anita Blake story but then it just ended. I was like huh? And no, the next book isn't on audio. So if you need audio, just know you're going to be left hanging.

The story and performance were excellent. Waited for the second story in the series and was not disappointed.

Not What I Expected

While the story itself wasn't bad, it felt juvenile. It feels like a middle school or early high school read. Also, when it changed the point of view from the main character being the primary narrator to a different character narrating the chapter, the voice of the narrator didn't change, so sometimes it was hard to tell who was supposed to be speaking.

Cozy fun read

Great story. All the characters are lovable and fun. Definitely will be reading the rest of the books in the series.

A super cute, CLEAN, paranormal romance!

It was cute, funny and overall a delightful read! I first read it as an ebook then I listened to it. The voices were different than I had in my head, but that’s to be expected. Overall, I really enjoyed it!
